Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

History in the January window suggests that Moyes will bring in one player for a healthy fee and one or two squad players on the cheap, on loan if they can return Broja. I don't put any stock in the Willian rumor, but there's a precedent, like when he signed 37 year old Patrice Evra, who'd been without a club for a few months. Evra only made a few appearances for West Ham and officially retired later, but he was just there for what we lack, which is squad depth.

A lot of people want Moyes to address every problem now, but that's not how January signings work for a lot of reasons. Those signings will come in the summer. Of the players linked so far, Weah makes the most sense as the pricey target because he's so versatile along with being a scorer with pace. He can play across the front or be an attacking wingback.

I wouldn't expect to see anyone brought in right now to take Mykolenko's job, which a lot of people want to see, but do expect to see someone like Weah and one or two cheap or free players brought in for depth.

I think what you say makes sense but every situation is different.

There are a number of factors at play here.

A sale or two for a fee could make a huge difference for PSR purposes. I would not completely rule that out.

Where it is felt we most need to strengthen. If it is felt we definitely need two or three then we may need to spread the funds(whatever they are) more thinly.

Is there anyone apart from Armstrong in the academy who could help from such as Sherif and/or Mills.
Bates was on the bench a couple of times as well.
I don't know enough to gauge how far away they are.

Cheers Keano.

Cheers Keano.
Could easily happen .
In the last days of the window when teams are getting nervous, trying to avoid relegation or ensure promotion.

Patterson is another, unless Moyes and Thelwell think he is better than SD did.

Beto is the most likely but only if we can bring someone in first.
I think he might be gone already if Broja had remained fit.
Swap Broja loan for Guiu loan at Chelsea.

Haha
We beat Wolves 4-0 before Christmas and drew with three big sides.
Didn’t help Dyche much.
