Just crap, he’s never going to be at the level technically for the pl with the ball. You’d have expected him to sort his positioning out by now though without it, still utterly hopeless though.

Said it many times but the only games where he plays well are when we have our backs to the wall, very little space in behind him and in between his centre back and he’s up against a winger who likes to run with the ball.

Any space in behind he’s rudderless. No idea where to even stand, no awareness of angles/threat from runners.

Genuinely the worst full back I’ve ever seen for Everton, and also the worst consistent starter.

Apparently we're trying to extend his contract.

Looks like we've accepted relegation.

Just shows what Thelwell thinks is acceptable. He needs sacking as well if he's making these decisions. Mykolenko is the worst starting left back in the league.

I see. So he was good last season and is poor this season.

Therefore you would have him leave at the end of his contract rather than extend the deal and either have him as backup or sell for a fee?

Interesting how the club lost so many when their deals expired and we ended up with no depth and limited transfer income.

Probably not on a massive wage and no reason why we can’t get in another left back for competition.

He’s just an up and down player, played well against Arsenal and Chelsea and struggled against City and Notts Forest.

Would be a decent squad player.

…..new contract offer, no assists because he’s told not to cross the half-way line, it’s all Dyche’s fault

When we get a new manager this bloke will be like Baines ;)

Hasnt had an assist closing in on 100 games now.

Weirdly he is still rated outside of here though, guessing more due to his international form etc

Does a new contract create any PSR wiggle room by any chance?

He goes into the final year of his contract in June. We signed him £17 -£20 mill. For ease lets say 20 mill. His salary is about 50k a week - 3 mill odd a season.

So on the books at the moment he costs about 8 mill pound approx.

With a new contract it will be somewhere between £4 - 5 million, as the last year of his contract will just be amortised across the new period presumably 5 years.

So a saving for the club of anywhere from £3-4 mill a year on his cost approx.

A new contract for garner would save us around 1.5-2m
