The Now-Irrelevant 2024/25 Relegation Battle (Without Everton!)

I agree…

The Esk wrote this in the Guardian:
“Dyche is performing in line with expectations and his career averages. But a first XI with nine internationals should surely be aiming higher”

Hard to argue against this
He is posting and re-posting facts for sure. On X. The platform he left a few weeks ago in a pseudo political statement that lasted about 10 minutes before the itch for engagement kicked in.

The Dyche stats are biblically horrendous. All the ammo and online fanbase that was previously utilised for attacking potential buyers (with barely a mention of actual football) has now been replaced by managerial stats and “COYB” pre match posts. They did not thwart the 777 debacle, the fact that 777 actually had no money and no plan did.

I do admire the grift, I really do. And a blue is a blue 💙. But better to just ignore. Hopefully now any news of truth and relevance will come from the club, and only the club.

I can’t see us winning another game for a while. I can see a couple of draws, but I dunno where the goals are gonna come from.

Genuinely believe we’re gone this year.
Need to find a way to score goals which as everyone knows has been the issue for ages. Given financial restraints, current players, current manager etc. I’m not sure how we can resolve the issue of scoring goals. We won’t get enough points drawing now and again, we must start picking up wins which requires goals. Going to be a tight one this season

It is, I’d rather that have happened midway through January so that they had less time to consider a replacement (not that I want anyone to get injured)

They'll stay up, will get enough wins against other bottom half teams as they've done recently. Only thing I thought about with the Bowen news is when they do come to Goodison as they'll be the type of safe mid table team that has to be beaten when that game comes around.

They also have Ipswich away on the final day of the season so that feels a bit dodgy as they didn't do much at all at Leicester on the final day two years back but they did have the euro final a week later in fairness.
