People saying it was our poor start to the season that's cost us, but there was a stat on Sky Sports before showing teams with the lowest points return since November 1st. City at the bottom and then there was us with Wolves, averaging 1pt a game since November.

Thats still an unbelievably crap return and this was when there was this narrative of "only 1 defeat in x amount of games"

We're coming up Christmas and we're on 15pts. That's utterly atrocious no matter which way you try and dress up

Yeah, we've not been in brilliant form but the fact of the matter is, if we'd won just one of those early games we'd be on 18pts from 15 games. 6 points clear of the drop zone with a game in hand.

I know, I know. IF. Tough luck Sean, get on with it...

Anyway, I'm not actually sure there's been many terrible results in that period from Nov 1st. United was poor, but the players had a lot to do with the scoreline. Not saying we would have got anything but a 4-0 win definitely flattered them because it was largely down to individual errors that scoreline. Brentford was disappointing and Saints was a really poor result but I'm still utterly bemused why anybody thinks a point at West Ham is something to cry about.

So for me, it's been 2 poor results in that period and an undeserved hammering at United, though as I say, I'm not stupid enough to argue we should have got something at Old Trafford. We've also only had 2 home games since November 1st...

They will try and dress it up don’t you worry.

* proceeds to invent hypothetical situations that haven’t actually happened.

Not quite, I was specificallY replying to a point about how much of an affect the poor start has had...

Guess you missed "I know, I know, IF. Tough luck Sean, get on with it."

Oh and @maccavennie (or sky) have got their facts wrong. He said we were in the bottom 3 with City and Wolves for that period, but that's not true. We're actually 16th for that period, not great admittedly, but then the caveat is that we've played 4 away and 2 at home in that period and played a game less than most others.

Nov 2nd - got beat against Southampton with a dreadful performance

November the 9th - got a draw away against an abysmal West Ham who were only matched by how abysmal we were where we were a world ie save off Pickford at the death away from losing. It was a shocking performance.

23rd November - just the 55 minutes to play against 10 men yet somehow manged to let Brentford look more of a threat than us

1st December - the less said about the usual capitulation against the mancs the better

4th December - a much needed win, 3 points on the board and some goals to actually cheer.

14th December - a hard fought point showing defensive resolution but offering absolutely zero as a footballing threat. But we'll take that point because it's Arsenal away.

So I'd say out of 6 games where you reckon there wasn't many terrible results, you'll struggle to find anyone agree with you mate because we were absolutely appalling for 4 of those 6 games.

Like I said, dress it up all you want but 15pts is shocking and your argument about their not being any terrible results I'd say I've just dissected that for you with minimum fuss.

1pt per game.

Last 6 games
6pts
= 1pt per game since Nov 1st
= crap

I mean, we're not actually that far apart here  Our main difference seems to be how poor of a result West Ham was.

And even if you really want to examine those goals against Wolves:
2x OGs, 1x A goal from a wicked deflection and a free kick that Ashley Young has never and will never score again in his whole career.

So it's nothing spectacular.

this is exactly as I see it 👏👏👏

Yeah, that's not correct mate... Though not a million miles off...

Well, you quite literally did so no point in continuing with this. I wonder what the rest of Bootle think.
