2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

‘Dychettes’ is one of the cringiest things I see on this forum every day. Is there anyone here still defending Dyche?

Or are people pointing out the squad is also crap too?

What happens when the next manager has to work with these same players through that crazy December and gets 4/5 hammerings trying to play football? Do we pull the trigger then too?

The squad is woeful, the manager is also woeful. It needs strengthening in January and I’d probably sack Dyche December 30th and give a new guy an easier run of games and hopefully some fresh blood.
Players play for their manager. You can clearly see the players going through the motions under Dyche.
Imagine this is your full time job and you are constantly being drilled to play the same repetitive way, which is basically football from prehistoric years.

I believe he has lost the players because of the system he wants to play and because he constantly shows preferences for certain players.

Selecting Doucoure in CM over Mangala on Saturday being an obvious example. As is his persistence in shoe horning geriatric Ashley Young into any position he can.

These players need a fresh start with a new manager with new ideas.

We get dry bummed in our next 6 fixtures which makes his departure a formality.

Hopefully by then the takeover is complete and the new Manager arrives. I assume TFG have already set the wheels in motion.

A bit of business in Jan and we move upwards.

Sit tight.

For a variety of reasons, but here's a few...

1) It's never been established that our DOF has the power to do this. It's not the norm at other Premier League teams for the DOF to be able to make that decision
2) Even if it was within the DOF's remit, until the takeover happens we are on the breadline. Sacking him costs money and appointing another manager and backroom team also costs money. It's highly likely we don't have that money at the moment.
3) The manager is out of contract at the end of the season. Unless we are going down, the cost-effective and logical route to go down is to part ways at the end of the season and let someone new lead us out at Bramley Moore
4) It's perfectly reasonable to assume that new owners will want a new manager anyway. We aren't far away from this being a reality, it's frustrating in the interim but barring some sort of Lazarus-esque miracle, Dyche will be gone by the end of the season at worst. Patience required.
TFG are already in for 200m of loans (plus millions more they will have spent on legal and consultants) so an extra 5-7m advance to get rid of this mgmt team is chump change to them. They need to act.

As for Thelwell, he can be the conduit to execute on their direction for now. They need to make the first move.
