Drenthe the enigma

Which side he plays on has nothing to do with not paying attention on free kicks and throw ins.

Of course Everton need him, however.

He's extremely inconsistent but I shudder to think how many goals Everton would have this year if it weren't for Drenthe. In most matches he looks like the only one capable of creating a scoring chance. I'd rather see him run at defenders than watch non-stop hoofball. Coleman is a solid player but defenders know exactly what he's going to do every time. Coleman's a one-trick pony and that trick isn't working any more. Pienaar does okay in creativity and aggressiveness but his finishing stinks. Gueye doesn't attack defenders but has a decent cross. Osman is much better in midfield than on the wing.

I don't expect Drenthe to be here next year but there's no doubt in my mind that Everton will be worse without him.

Mr. D pities the fool that lets him get on to his left foot...

(Good Lord, how awesome would it be to see him out on the pitch with massive gold chains...PMSL)

haha augustein at swansea donned the Mr. T hairstyle earlier this season, i rekon royston should make it happen, with fellaini as his white assistant and matching hairstyle

Aye. People say he's inconsitant but he has yet to have a run on the right. I think that he'll be played there for the rest of the season (maybe discounting the FA cup where I still find Guaye(L) Drenthe(R) a lot better than Drenthe(L) Coleman(R).

4 goals and 8 assists I think he has? He's got the best tally for the two combined I think.

He's probably been heavily involved in quite a few outside of those 12 as well. I know he got a penalty for us in one game. Speaking of which, he's been fouled 60 times. The next highest on the club is Cahill with 33. That's a lot of free kicks he's gotten for us. Several of those against Sunderland should have been called as well. The foul in the penalty box would have been called if it were outside the box.

He does go down easily at times but with his aggression, the speed he plays at, and how light he is on his feet, it's only natural to be knocked down a lot.

He is amazing mate, we're all pupils of moyes and have already talked ourselves out of signing him.

DEE FENCE DEE FENCE

Was he trying to make a point today about defending? A lot of the time when we had the ball down the right he never ran up the line despite there being acres of space there

We need to sign drenthe if we can. We also need pienaar and Donovan. Not every game is set up for drenthe but would love to have all 3 of them available for selection next season.

Let's hope he likes it here and is not chasing big money. You would think his real Madrid stint would of taught him the values of big money moves not being good career moves!
