Jelavic Injury?

'It will lead to herniation' is not a hernia. I will eventually die, i'm not dead. English, do you speak it ?

There can be a gap in the muscle wall without the muscle pushing through so its still liable to hernia.

It is possible to require hernia repair without a lump. You just can't see it but any surgeon examing would be able to feel the weakness in the groin.

Wikipedia/Fonts/Facepalm i reckon.

Another example would be a stress fracture of the tibia. It could lead to a complete break if untreated, but only an idiot would call it a leg break.

How wouldn't it legitimately described as such though? A fissure is a break...a small hairline break maybe, but the bone wouldn't be whole. Same difference with the hernia...it's a matter of degree.

I've had laproscopic hernia repair. Right side was full hernia but the surgeon went in to look at possible weakness on the left and found it so did a full repair there and then

So it ended up being left and right "bilateral laproscopic inguinal hernia repair" even though Brennan would say the left hand side wasn't a hernia!

He sees things in a very either/or way, not processes of coming to being.

He's a pretty rigid thinker.

The name sports hernia is a misnomer as well because there is no discernable hernia (or protrusion of abdominal cavity contents) present in this condition.

This is in contradistinction to a typical hernia where there is a protrusion of abdominal contents such as fatty tissue or bowel through a well-defined defect in the inguinal canal of the groin. Despite this, the name sports hernia has persisted because many of the surgical treatments are similar to that of a typical hernia.

A sports hernia is a tear to the oblique abdominal muscles. Unlike a traditional hernia, the sports hernia does not create a hole in abdominal wall. As a result, there is no visible bulge under the skin. This means making a definitive sports hernia diagnosis is difficult.

My comparison to a leg break was actually poor because a stress fracture is of course a 'break'. A sports hernia and a hernia are two different kinds of injury, and although one may lead to the other (i haven't seen any evidence proving this apart from Damon saying so) that doesn't mean you automatically have a hernia.
