Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Hi guys. I've actually laughed out loud at some of the recent comments. Glad @jazzy and @Barnfred 55 had a good time together- The Phil pub is one of my favourite places. @Val P hope Mr P had a good birthday. Loved your Spirit of The Blues story!
We got home about an hour ago and have had a lovely time. Had one winner so ened up about £20 down on the day - not bad. The racecourse is beautiful, definitely the nicest one I've been to in England. The staff were brilliant. Every single person we interacted with was charming, friendly and super helpful. I backed one horse called Sporting Mike because as he was walking round with his handler - a tiny girl who possibly could qualify as a poppet- she said to this hugge horse 'Walk nicely like I told you to" The horse stopped and gave her a kiss! He's probably still running now but I thought it was so sweet.20240217_120945.webp20240217_120929.webp20240217_111119.webp

Thanks @anjelikaferrett he had a great birthday and a good night out, topped off by being brought home in a taxi by (I kid you not) DJ Steve, who played dance music full blast and actually had lights all over the inside of his car which changed colour when the music was playing. He even did requests- so after a few glasses of wine we arrived home with the car windows open and Loca People blasting out like the 60 odd year old reprobates that we are. Couldn’t move for laughing when we got in. Only in Wigan šŸ˜‚

Good morning all on this wintery day here in HyvinkƤƤ . I hope all are well and had a good night and that @Ducans elbow gets a good one .A bit strange here today as we are going shopping in the afternoon not good for my schedule ,i am not OCD but I do like to get things done early and then take my time afterwards ,this way the wife has been able to get me to clean the house early in the week !.Have a great day all and good luck to the boys tonight .
I wonder if we will here from @Barnfred 55 today or will his itinerary be full of the glorious scenery in Derbyshire ,here is to hoping he has a bakewell tart and a fidgety pie .A visit here might be up his street knowing he loves a pastie - https://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/whats-on/food-drink/derbyshire-meat-pie-declared-best-7615245
I have just googled it and it is about 1 1/4 hour drive so may be it is a no.

I'm not sure I'd talk about Bakewell tarts at the moment.

Fingers crossed that Fred is ok lol

Morning everyone,

We've been looking after SiLs dog this weekend . Shes lovely but Rosie doesn't like her so keeping the 2 of them seperated hasn't been easy.

I see that Sheff U captain didn't think that Holgate should have had a red yesterday, bonkers . One of the worst challenges I've seen since Gerrard's two footed assault at Goodison.

Anyway off to get some new tyres today so that will be fun , not , and costly.

Good luck to @Barnfred 55 in making an escape from Glossop and getting back to Cornwall.

Oh yes , I've forgotten about the appeal decision and tonight's game. Absolutely no idea what will happen in either case but one thing is for sure , regardless of the deduction decision we need to start winning games ASAP.

Have a lovely day everyone.

….Ascot, Anj? I’ve been myself and it is stunning. I think Sporting Mike is trained by Ben Pauling who trained 3 nice priced winners and had a 2nd there on Saturday. Sounds like you backed his only loser ;)

Handicap entries out for Cheltenham tomorrow.

I am not sure I mentioned it but our new car needed winter tyres 1000€ luckily I spotted them and the garage had to pay, then on our first day out it threw up a waring "go to the dealer" which has meant a new oil pressure solenoid ,it was in this afternoon on handing the keys back he said that now the coolant resevoir cap is stuck and needs replacing and so too does the thermostat housing -two hours and 245€ for the part .The garage will pick up the tab again :D
