Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Good afternoon all. It's still very windy here- I've lost track of the named storms so don't know if Isha or Jocelyn is causing the problem.
The highlight so far today has been the weekly shop and a bacon butty in Home Bargains cafe! It's clubbercise again tonight so I reckon I can burn off a bacon butty's worth of calories in an hour.
It looks like Trump is going to be the Republican candidate- how what why? He tried to bring down a democratically elected Government. The mind boggles. Is there any chance he could be in prison before the election? Regardless of political persuasion surely the are enough sane Republicans not to vote for him- or is winning all that matters?
How is everybody? Have a good day whatever you are up to

Just got home from the hockey game, great seats we got beat 4-3 once a Blue and all that
Only been to one hockey game, in New York about 2017. Got asked for my passport when I went the bar by a young girl serving. Got to admit I was flattered to be able to possibly pass for under 21 at the tender age of 57. Never had my passport, but her supervisor said just serve him 🤣

Morning everyone,

You are all so busy , Blue buying cars , Val packing up , T being played up by Daisy , Anj being a medic , Dunc doing his stint in wages and accounts and Fred.....errrr drinking G&Ts lol .

So yet another storm on its way , lovely. Hopefully the boiler has finally been fixed - new circuit board fitted this time , would have been cheaper to replace the whole thing - but it doesn't seem to recognise the pre set timings, may have to re programmed I suppose.

You nay remember that I planted a new tropical garden last year both bananas etc.

Anyway before the winter I spent hours wrapping them and protecting them. Yesterday's storm destroyed all the protection and allowed me to see how they were doing.......and there was nothing left !!! May have to rethink the tropical look in Northern England.

Table tennis match tonight.

Unremittingly bad news re war in Sudan , Gaza and Ukraine. I think @Barnfred 55 is right , it may be best not to watch the news and ignorance is bliss.

Just finished watching Bates v Post Office. My god what a story and so well told / acted. I was surprised to see my best mates brother in law Ian Hart ( massive Evertonian) playing Bob the independent investigator .

I remember meeting him when he got his acting break playing a young John Lennon in Backbeat , where the hell have all those years gone?

Anyway have a lovely day everyone and stay safe in Storm Jocelyn
Read this and thought of…

You did better than me, they wouldn’t serve me at New York Mets , I had to send my eldest son who had taken his passport with him.

Good morning all on this cloudy day here in Hyvinkää .I hope all had a good night and have a fine day today .Nothing to report today other than I was watching a geniology show from the states the same as" Who do you think you are " the episode I watched had Morgan Freeman and two others ,they did a DNA test on them and also some schoolkids the results showed the percentage of African , European and Native American but they announced the percentages as Asian not Native American .Why is that ? Is it another case of the "The tomato is a vegatable" decision to suit there way way of thinking or are the "Indians " descended from Asian people ?
Have a great day all. COYB

Morning everyone,

Busy old day yesterday.

Gym , gardening for a couple of hours ( trying to move a 15yr old amalanchier which has just grown too big - will have another go today ), taking mum to the Drs and inspecting potential new table tennis venues.

More of the above today with a trip to the barbers subbing for the Drs!

Looks like England have made their usual start to a test series with their batting collapse but the pitch looks pretty sub standard for test cricket to me. It's a bunson burner!

Anyway must go and make breakfast for sleeping beauty Mrs F.

Have a lovely day everyone.

Morning all, weather damp and miserable here. Went to bed at around 10 and awoke after a lovely sleep, unusual for me. Looked at the clock to find it was 11.10 🙄 Couldn’t get back to sleep so listened to some very interesting podcasts including one on the history of swearing- every cloud…….lol
Off to Specsavers this morning, still having trouble with my glasses.
Have a good day, all.💙
