6 + 2 Point Deductions

Still... Even an accountant who barley competent would just need to have one look at our trial balance, see how bad the numbers are and know that if we don't take corrective action soon, we're going to be in hot water...
He didn’t care. He needed a midfielder.

Someone has been in his ear the whole time, and it wasn’t Kenwright.

They would be charging us for two of the years already covered by the first penalty, and the current fiscal year isn't done. We can't get in the wayback machine and change things, so how is charging us again even remotely fair?

Not saying it’s “fair” it’s a 3 year rolling period and I’m guessing they will say that we were warned by them and we decided to just spend .

That’s the real problem we have . As we were signing players we were being warned that we are at a major risk of PSR breach.

Mosh just ignored them as he ignored most of the people advising him since he has been here.

I also do t thin the EPL are going to waste this opportunity to hammer someone to try and show they can govern themselves

Agreed. But I think that is actually mitigation for the club. Not that we could have recovered money from him, but that he was suspended outside of the clubs control and nothing came of it.
and as he was a top performer, his top performances could have lifted us sufficient places to received £20m in extra prize money, or we could have easily sold him for £20m plus (and saved wages), so to say it should be ignored in their calculations is ludicrous.

This does the opposite of what they’re intending it to do.

Neck and neck. I don’t think the club treated this as seriously as they should. But the PL is a clown show, to not have prescribed punishments or guidelines is patently absurd. Without that there’s little reason to change behavior as the consequences are not known.

Also, the PSR calculation is bs, there are far simpler ways to ensure sustainability
Moshiri and to an extent Bill moved in a world were Everybody knew what 'the rules' were.
aka, everything's legal if you don't get caught.

The PL don't seem to know wtf their own rules are nor how to apply them.
aka, if your face fits you're ok.

Well no mate, thats not how the law works.

You are arrested on suspicion of a crime, then they normally bail you while they look into it, if they have enough evidence, you are charged.

I realise this is anal, im just saying.

He was never charged with a crime, only ever arrested on suspicion of 1.

He also scored a winning goal at Anfield, but thats for another thread I suppose.
But they won't wipe off all his wages and costs from these numbers?
That's completely bizarre.

Best gusses appear to be February or March before we hear anything more.
You know these PL tvvats will make us wait for as long as possible!

Probably until the last day of the season, when we're 4 points clear of the relegation zone, before announcing that they've reviewed everything and feel that our original punishment wasn't harsh enough, and they've decided to slap on another 5 points deduction! 😤

Jesus, how long is this going to take - it seems to be going on forever, like Chinese water torture?!

For me it just shows how broken the governance is by the PL - it staggers me that they think the appeal should take so long to get heard, while the actual football season is being played out, with a huge number of teams, not just us affected.

Roll in the absolute cack handed way they are dealing with the city and Chelsea cases and they are more or less pulling out the chair and setting the table for government regulation - they have made the case for the government.

The sad thing is I trust this government about as much as I trust the PL, but something has to change, it’s currently broken but repairable.
