Absolutely.VAR is pointless in my opinion as they still pick and choose when to bother using it. So you might aswell just stick with the refereeing system that worked for a century before VAR.

If that's a foul then pretty much every challenge is a foul.. there'd never be another goal again if they were to start calling every slight contact a foul.In the end …. It was a foul
Spot on mate . Becoming ridiculous now. Even when we score now i am waiting for VAR to rule it out. needs to be scrappedAbsolutely.
Fingers don't count when offside is being checked though...It's not even any good for offside. Do they have the right ange to draw the line from? Have they picked the exact split second when the ball was kicked to correctly show that the attacker's index finger was offside? If it was a perfect system/interpretation then i'd have no problem with it. The problem is that the rules of football are so open to interpretation and people (managers/players) will take every advantage of that that they can. As it is, it was better without VAR, when it was just down to the ref/linesmen. They'd get some decisions wrong but (resonable/neutral) fans would be more willing to accept that as human error.

Like they didn't even choose to look at the shirt pull on Onana. Why have the technology if you still have to throw yourself to the ground or force the officials to use the technology?
And the disallowed goal.. never in a million years was that a foul on Royal, he got caught in possession and crumbled to the floor. VAR made it look like a foul by giving pause frame slow motion repeats of it which don't give the whole context.
But yeah.. I just think VAR is pointless when its never applied properly and consistently
It wouldn't be better. It would be much, much worse.VAR will always be crap until they let a professional footballer make the decisions
That wouldnt surprise me, I am one for not agreeing when you hear abou ex players would somehow make the so called right call, just because they played the game if a Ref etc. You dont need to have played the game for me to make a right call. no matter what it is or was - I Will always stick to never liking VAR no matter what.It wouldn't be better. It would be much, much worse.
There's no reason why a player couldn't be a good ref, as long as they do the training, but none of them want to be refs. They just use their positions in the media to belittle the current refs for their own purposes. But Danny Murphy doesn't know the rules, he proves that practically every week on MOTD. His like would be run out of Stockley Park in a matter of weeks. It's this kind of rubbish which led to the Niasse shenanigans. That wouldnt surprise me, I am one for not agreeing when you hear abou ex players would somehow make the so called right call, just because they played the game if a Ref etc. You dont need to have played the game for me to make a right call. no matter what it is or was - I Will always stick to never liking VAR no matter what.
they're all fouls when slowed down because our minds paradoxically speed it up and it looks worse than it isIf that's a foul then pretty much every challenge is a foul.. there'd never be another goal again if they were to start calling every slight contact a foul.
this is an extract from the legal world but the principle still applies and it something else that those viewing and interpreting this footage will know nothing about.they're all fouls when slowed down because our minds paradoxically speed it up and it looks worse than it is
It's why a lot of films use slow mo to exaggerate a hit. Guy Ritchie, Zack Snyder come to mind
They were even using it for the bionic man years ago, slower made you think it was faster
