Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Well that was poo

Never have a better chance to get to a semi final.

Ah well would only have drawn the RS anyway.

Very busy week.

Did a huge Xmas food ship yesterday too ( @angelikeaferret) and today got to go to Ormskirk to get holiday money and a few toiletries and then , most importantly order the table tennis trophies for the League tournament in February.

Tomorrow the car goes in for a service.

Fridays my birthday so our to lunch and an afternoon of wine and playing LPs .

Saturday cousin and his partner ( he's gay ) arrive for Christmas and to look after mum and the animals whilst we are away.

It's all go!
Local businesses have lost thousands due to that penalty. Would have been 2 additional games for local establishments to make a couple of bob

OMG bit of a shock .

Phone call from cousin ....we are still coming but might have to leave at short notice because of a medical issue if an urgent appointment comes through ( cancer scan !)

After frantic phone calls and discussions we have a back up plan involving 4 different people .

Very very windy here , had a power cut for an hour but all ok now

oh my goodness @jazzy. Not what you need. If you do ever need help in an emergency, I can work from anywhere so just give me a shout. I'd happily babysit Mum and the animals. Lovely pic @Gwladysover.
It's very windy here too. I nearly drove into a huge branch lying across the road on my way back from taking Mr F to work. I've done my last pre-Christmas socialising. I met one of my workmates for a pie chips and mushy peas lunch. I need to get into the gym before Christmas - mostly for damage limitation purposes!
I'm in work tomorrow - that's a shock to the system and then back in on 29th. I will of course be giving it my all. I must tell you about a care plan I read last week. 93 year old bloke with home carers. 'Mr X loves salt on eveything and everything must be fried in lard' He's my new role model. Who needs healthy eating 🤣🤣🤣
Hope you're OK @Terrarian and @Brett Angell Delight - what's on the Christmas menu this year?

Have a good evening x

Really?

I just might take you up on that Anj - plenty to eat and drink as long as it's veggie and red wine.

Do you think you could stick 2 weeks with mum with it either doing your head in or you coming to blows lol .

Happily Mrs Js sister will stay if necessary but doesn't drive so we've arranged various "taxi" drivers for her .

Hopefully none of this will be necessary!

The last thing you needed. Hope your back up plan won’t be needed and your plans go ahead without a hitch. Best of luck and good wishes to your cousin re the cancer scan. Kind and thoughtful gesture from @anjelikaferrett too.

I’m very much a creature of habit so the menu this year is the same as the last few!

Blinis with salmon mousse for brekkie, then traditional turkey and trimmings for dinner.

Prep will take place over Saturday and Sunday for the most part, so brace yourselves for the usual, increasingly drunken food posts.

Hope everyone else’s prep is coming along nicely. Wrapped all the missus’s presents up last night so feeling suitably smug, though still got loads to do for the kids.

Brett seems to come to life for Christmas, but remember folks a Brett is for the whole year not just Christmas.

Good to hear from you again fella.

However I wrapped Mrs J and Granny's pressies last week ......what can I say!
