6 + 2 Point Deductions

Do we then have a case to say it’s affected us from a sporting point of view and therefore we could sue for all of the games we have played and lost because the players and staffs’ minds weren’t correct?

That would be so subjective even to meet the level of on the balance of probabilities thats how things played out.

Indeed how about someone arguing the polar opposite suggesting that high levels of performance that were achieved on the basis of the “ Backs against the wall“

Only just read this, dare I say it again, but the wheels are in full motion with this.

The points in this letter are:

1) No sanction policy existed before the allegations were made. It was created during the process and therefore unfair. (As far as I know it the 20 clubs have to vote in favour or not of such new rules or regulations, such as the more recent can you take players from feeder clubs).

2) The EFL has this rule and structure, but the Premier League does not, therefore why are Everton being hit with a sanction for a rule that doesn’t/didn’t exist.

3) The whole process hasn’t been fair due to the timing in which it has taken place. The Premier League is currently under scrutiny and there has been talks of an outside regulator. If documents where to appear which show Everton have been used to prove the Premier League can still govern their own league and therefore no independent regulator is needed, this will actually show the opposite. It will show Everton have been used as a pawn.
It will be interesting if Everton find any documentation which suggests this.

4) Null and void. Andy makes a good point of basically saying the process has been poor and therefore it should be null and void. I just hope Everton have gone to the highest lawyer in the land to get this put right.

All in all I think after yesterday’s result we need our points back. It’s an unfair advantage to those around us. If anything IMO I feel give us our points back and let us start on minus ten next season. At least it’s then a level playing field and we know what we have to do.

It is possible that the same panel will be appointed to hear the appeal but that is almost certainly not going to happen but even if the chair of the judicial panel did appoint the same panel if the club weren’t happy with those appointments they , the Club, can object against the appointments.

As an outsider looking in it’s pretty obvious that the backlash to all this isn’t something that the bulk of observers and indeed the PL excepted that is I suspect save a couple of individuals who totally misread the room and that includes the Independent Commission who embarked on a massive Willy waving exercise intoxicated on power

Be it directed from the PL Board in total or one individual the sceptre of external regulation clearly has been central in all this and I personally am under no illusion a regulatory body I believe a regulatory will be a disaster. For me it will be a bureaucratic version of VAR .

At one time I thought that yours at worse would be a fine and a points deduction suspended so I was like most taken aback. I will this into the pot if your 10 point deduction remains that will set the benchmark and quite simply it they , the PL, or regulator long term adopt the same level of sanction the PL will in a blink of an eye will implode.
This is spot on BUT, will they follow with comparable punishments, i fear not as you rightly say the PL will implode

Brilliant letter from Burnham, just highlighting the preposterous and hole-ridden state that this entire process, investigation and punishment has been from the get go. The PL cartel trying to protect themselves.

The Cartels response to him shows that they haven’t got a scooby what they are talking about and are completely making it up as they go along - if it wasn’t so serious it would be laughable, and our legal team need to pull them apart on it all.

The United fans showed their true colours yesterday as well, with the feed the scousers and city in disguise (I bloody wish!) plus the cheat chants. Manc Scum.

They, like all the scab 6 clubs supporters except city and maybe Chelsea, want us walloped just so city & Chelsea get hammered - any support from those fans is disingenuous, don’t fall for it.

We have to fight like we’re never getting the 10 points back, on and off the pitch - yesterday was just the beginning, the players need to improve and so do we - more chants, more banners, more noise on social media - don’t let the PL lead the narrative.

Been serious, will these letters etc we have seen the last week or so actually have any effect on the Premier League/Commission etc. Or is it just people rightly venting of our anger at a very unjust punishment, even though we know they cant even stick to the same lie they are telling each day.

i’m hoping surely something changes and we get this writ off or halfed

i’m tryna be positive that but …
To be honest, the level of incompetence being shown by the premier league leads me to think it won't just be written off (it is starting to look very sketchy from a legal standpoint), but independent regulation will happen sooner than expected.

I wouldn’t take much notice of Man U fans they clearly proved they have no brains. They have clearly only discovered fire for the first time last night, when they was chatting ‘what the hell was that’ when the fireworks where going off.

I agree with those saying it'll be 5 points

It's just harsh enough that they can look tough and just reasonable enough that the club won't be destroyed by it

It also gives them wiggle room for some leeway when it comes to Chelsea and City's punishments

I think we can probably stay up if they do that

Yes we aint getting them all removed it will make them look weak.

We can survive with where we are now, like i said yesterday there is 18 points to play for before we are halfway through the season.
I believe we will be out of the relegation zone before the halfway point.
