Protects their asset for a long time. Maybe means they don't need to negotiate regular increased contracts.

Or potentially leaves them with players they don't want on high wages

Can work either way. But I agree 5 is plenty.

They are towards the end of their careers. Maybe they fancy something different and to live in a great city with sunny weather and a different cultural experience and Champs League is a bonus. Zaha moving from Palace to Everton is just more of the same for him.
