The experts reckoned that Betamax was far better quality than VHS.
As VHS was cheaper it quickly gained the ascendancy and it was difficult to purchase Betamax tapes.
Good in the mid 1980's, when EFC was the gear, recording matches to watch at your leisure.
Following a factory closure in 1980 I was made redundant along with hundereds of others.
It was amazing just how many 'would be entrepreneurs' invested their redundancy money in buying second hand transit vans and setting up 'mobile video libraries'

10th July 1964 - The Beatles released 'A Hard Day's Night' with side one containing songs from the soundtrack to their film of the same name, with the title song and 'Can't Buy Me Love', both hitting #1 in the U.S. and the U.K.
Had the original to this along with a couple of other early Beatles albums they had belonged to my Mom. In the 90's.I replaced my vinyl with CD's and took about 50 albums to a second handbook/record shop. He gave me a fiver for the lot!!

Does developing a sudden liking for Bourbon biscuits allow entry to this thread? I've always classed them as old people biscuits- along with fig rolls. And here I am scoffing a packet of them. Either that or I'm pregnant
