Comparing him to Phil Neville might not have the effect you were after mate!
...not Pip now, Pip then.

True but it's the manager's fault as well by accepting defeat. Look at Blackpool and Swansea...low quality players but no fear. How will he motivate his players when he himself has admitted defeat moaning before every game about lack of money instead of realising that we're better than many teams still.
On topic though, Gibson is a positive addition if it happens unless Moyes has CB plans for him.
The only thing I think everyone can agree on, is that he should at least keep Neville out of centre mid.
The game painfully passes Nev by, and its a little embarrassing. At least Gibson will be mobile enough to make a nuisance of himself, and snap the odd player.
He should keep both neville and cahill off. For me, Coleman should be RB. the centre mid should consist of fellaini/roodwell along with osman/gibson(if he comes) with 2 up front
Yeah and Blackpool got relegated. Swansea it remains to be seen.
The foundation of the team is defence. *
Then you add flair players in to win games.
Moyes would have more positive players in if the board hadn't sold them all (and/or they weren't injured or not quite ready yet).
* I'll use the Spurs example. Ossie Ardiles. Didn't have a clue as a manager defensively. Etc.
If your team can't defend you never fecking win a game.
I always want to see more Ireland players playing for us mate, but their nationality is secondary to their quality for me. I'm an Evertonian first.
I don't think he's good enough for our first XI, and I don't think our finances are good enough to justify this kind of money for squad fillers.
However if he signs he will have my support and I hope that he comes good. That's all I can do though -- I can't change my opinion of him at this point.

Damon is talking sense here.
What the...?
I'm all in for defending, I think it's the heart of the game. I'm a Rb myself at university but what we see at everton is desperate defending where the strikers and everyone else defend every time we lose the ball and that is not on.
Even yesterday, we had Donovan at Rb defending against Assou Ekotto...now wtf is that? I can understand this if you're 1-0 up inside stoppage time but not from the start of the game.
You can't win without defense, I agree but on the contrary, you can't win without posing any attacking intent, something we barely do now that the manager has excuse for everything.
Which suggest that you expect 'this kind of money' to buy someone who is better than what we have already got, who will walk into the first team. Ain't gonna happen.
Not particularly. One lad earlier in the thread who claims he is an Ireland fan said he was 'sickened' by this. How anyone who supports the B.I.G. can't be looking forward to seeing how he gets on for us, if not exactly setting off the fireworks, I don't know. It's going down well with Ireland fans as we hope he will get a good run of games before the Euros.
As an Irish fan, Gibson has been so frustrating. He has obvious talent but lacks concentration and positional sense can be a problem. It appears that a medical is happening so fingers crossed the move works out for him. He is in danger of not making the euro 2012 squad if he stands still at Utd and Trappatoni has spoken in the media about this very point.
