….it’s absolutely not the bottom line. He‘s cheaper for a reason and a relegation will cost the club an awful lot more than signing Martinez or Krauss for relatively low fee.

Not moving the ineffective on at the first opportunity is indefensible, surprised you feel this is sensible.

It's clear our funds are going to be limited again this summer. Our most pressing areas are upfront and someone to replace Mina and a new left back.

CM is our healthiest area of the pitch, and I think most are happy with options ahead of him, Doucoure, Gana, Onana and Garner.

We have more chance of relegation because we didn't use our limited funds as wisely as we could in the most pressing areas than we are for retaining our 5th choice CM.

If he signs he's simply not arsed about football. Blatantly obvious to everyone he needs a fresh start, club selfishly keeping him cos it means we don't need to go searching for a 5th choice central midfielder.
Can you blame him. Everton give him grands a week for clobber and he doesnt even have to play. Would you say no?

Sense at last

But if we have limited funds they 100% need to go on forwards. We can't do it all in one window.

I am not party to our finances to say if it's sensible or not sensible, I have no opinion on it, just trying to give people who instantly want to fume a bigger picture scenario.

..…an effective striker has been priority for 18 months but when you get an opportunity to move a totally ineffective player off the books then you have to take it. If Davies leaves it doesn’t make us worst off.

I actually like the lad but you have to move deadwood on or we’ll never improve. It’s a disastrous strategy to keep players who simply can’t help the cause.

So you'd be happy going into the season with 4 CM's covering 3 positions and then just academy lads as backup?

I don’t know either to laugh or despair some of the things I’m reading on social media. He played in the 2-0 win at Anfield so apparently that means it’s a reason to keep him. Oh and don’t forget just to be subservient and “get behind the team” etc.

Sod it
