Got a feeling we won't be taking the option yeno.

Personally I'd have him at £4.5m, but I think it's clear going forward that Dyche will want to play a back 4 with Tarks and probably Branthwaite as the 'ideal' first-choice pairing going into next season. We may then buy another pure centre-half for backup or promote a youngster like Welch or Gibson.

As long as Keane, Holgate & Godfrey aren’t in the mix to start, I’m ok with whatever they want to do

Spending any money on a player the manager doesn't rate as highly as Michael Keane would seem a bad idea
He rated him higher than Keane for one of the biggest matches in our history. When even Dyche has had enough of Keane it’s surely over.

The reports say if we reject Coady he likely goes to Sheffield United, and it’s a move that would be good for them as they’ll need a cheap experienced PL defender. The 4d chess move is surely to keep Coady then offer Sheffield Holgate or Keane for the same price.

He rated him over Keane in a 3 at the back that he hadn't been using. For 90% of his tenure Coady was 4th choice. As Wolves realised long ago Coady is fine in a 3 and not up to it in a 4.

Not sure why we would spend money on Coady, a fella the manager already doesn't fancy in order to get rid of other players the manager also doesn't fancy but actually likes a bit more given his selections. Surely what we should actually do is just put the money towards someone that Dyche might actually want to use rather than trying (and almost certainly failing) to pull a fast one on Sheff U.

There'll be bigger clubs wanted to sign him. Or he'll go back into the fold at Wolves

Ive just read the same post 85 times and im still not convinced. Theres only a couple of players that come out of this season unscathed and Coady isn’t one of them.

We can do better surely?

Up to Dyche.
Personally I would keep him,
But if the manager wants to use the money elsewhere fine with that as well.
As others have said sooner sell Keane and deffo Holgate,
He would be a good signing for Sheff unt or decent backup for us.

I'd keep Tarkowski and Godfrey. I'd sell Holgate and Keane and Mina is on his way out. That leaves us with three CBs once Jarrod gets back. We ideally want two more and if Coady is cheap I don't see why we wouldn't trigger it.
