The Moshiri era has been largely one in which we haven't managed to bring in players from either the youth team or from unfancied clubs and improve them. Instead we've gone down the road of buying in names for big money and them underwhelming. We kind of had the right approach under Moyes and should have used the money to a) keep our best players, and b) add one or two stars. The club has gone very wrong now for years and I can't think why any decent player would want to come to us now, whether senior or junior. It’s a huge indictment on our academy if they suck. We absolutely must become a club that can churn out talent that can be sold and enter the first team with our current financial situation. I do think our recent culture plays a part in so many failures but the truth is we haven’t done enough to prepare players for the league. We need to become more cutthroat as a club and drop the coddling of our players. Too many of them come out rotten eggs.
