We're looking solid, others are looking flakey.

If Sean gets anything near what he's got out of our squad so far we are going to ease to safety.

3 points from the last 18 for Forest. I can only see 3 games in their run in that they get points: home to Wolves, away to Leeds and home to S'ton. I really cant make a case for them surviving.

That was Forest's game in hand on us , the 4 teams immediately below us have games in hand too.
The bottom of the league team and those above us who had a 'game in hand' have all lost those games. I'm not sure that having a game in hand is that important when they, as a team, are a bit 'meh'.

I said to you the other day Dave, no one can predict it, it’s a relegation battle, what is impossible in November, becomes more realistic.

But you’re definitely right. Forest’s home form has been fantastic, so taking 1 point from 6 against us and Newcastle is massive, with the games they’ve got left at home.

I think Southampton will go, Leeds could easily go with them but I think probably anyone from Forest down could go. Palace and Wolves won’t go, imo.

A lot of these teams are one man bands: S'ton with Ward-Prowse, Forest with Johnson, Palace with Zaha, West Ham with Bowen etc.

I think our strength is that we have no one player we depend on. That's what Dyche has brought: everyone taking responsibility to get goals and get behind the ball if need be. I think that will see us through.

So focus turns to 3pm tomorrow..

Villa v b’mouth
Brentford v Leicester
Saints v spurs
Wolves v leeds

Villa, brentford, spurs, wolves/draw.

Gives us a free hit

That newcastle win puts pressure on spurs.

Like someone said bar villa there isnt another team ‘on the beach’ this season
Villa beat Bournemouth
Brentford beat Leicester
Spurs beat S'ton
Wolves beat Leeds
...and probably Chelsea beat Everton.

I'd take that now. Run another week of games off where we dont lose any ground we've made up then get into Spurs.

They are really not very good yet they’ve fluked so many points at home and almost did it again today. Hopefully their luck has finally ran out.

Every game is important mate , none more so than a relegation run in.

If 2 of that 4 get wins tomorrow's & we get an expected loss at Chelsea we are bottom 3 with Man Utd & Spurs next up.

This is gonna be one hell of a scrap.

Really need to get the first goal v Newcastle. They'll endlessly waste time if they go 1 up and in fairness they have real quality in final third with likes of Isak and Bruno Guimaraes. Can see that going the way of the Villa game tbh, more chance to beat Spurs I think although again lots of quality in final third.

I'm still cautious. People saying 11th and 12th yet it could easily be no wins from next three home games and then things get really desperate.

I said to a Forest fan on here yesterday that if their home form fades then they have a major problem on their hands. Their home games look brutal now. Wolves, United, Brighton and Arsenal. S'ton looks like the one they'll have to bank on. Away from home it looks equally bleak.

S'ton + Forest + one other take the drop.

It's up to us to get 3 points in the next 3 tough(er) games and if we do that we're more than likely safe, because the last 8 look like games we can get a lot of points from.

36 points we need. I keep saying it and I think I'm right.

Not like you to think you are right Dave.

I have no doubt that things are already really desperate. If the teams thinks that too, that might be a good thing. We know we are in the deep end. But Forest were, basically, a win against us from comparative safety. They missed that chance and are now a single point above us with a vastly inferior goal difference. Even a loss tomorrow doesn't radically change that - unless we lose 7-0.

I think we have a chance of a point tomorrow. Chelsea have spent fantastic sums of money - but are very flaky indeed. Then it's Spurs, who we never fear at Goodison. That United side - without Casemiro - gives you a chance. So, while we are underdogs in each of the next three, all of those games provide us with some opportunities. The likelihood is it will all come down to our last two games against Wolves and Bournemouth, but if we are to avoid last-day heart attacks, a point or three over the next three would go a long way...
