Hard to say, a lot changes quickly in football. However, Palace do not seem to have much faith in what they are doing, and have much less intensity in their game than the other PL teams they are fighting against.

The quality in this Palace team isn't much to brag about either, so they have no advantage there. I think they will drop like a stone. Fortunately for us.
I hope you're right. I think there's a good chance of us finishing above them, but they have a slight gap and they should get points from their remaining games.

im not sure on this, you may have a point, but do palace have players up for a fight, personified usually by the manager, see Lampard & Dyche as examples. Though unfortunately, i just don't think Lampard might be a good manager.

I think the only change from palace will if they change their manager. hopefully they don't and they don't, if you see what i mean. Current form has us above them at the end of the season..
They have a decision to make with the international break, because Palace will be flattened by Arsenal next up.

It depends on results tomorrow and this weekend. For example, if - as I suspect - no club below them other than Wolves gets points then they'll be sitting in 13th place. That would be a strange position to sack a manager from if you're Palace. I think their board will look at the type of clubs they've been playing for the past 2 months (top half teams) and stay their hand. Only if Palace then start losing after the break against Leicester or Leeds will they act to remove Vieira.

Yeah, that tells me it's falling into the same trap as FiveThirtyEight's modelling, in that it's over-weighting recent-historical performance.

Just because a team did well enough last season doesn't mean they aren't terrible this season.
It also seems to be factoring in games played.

D'you know, if by some chance we beat Chelsea on Saturday I'd be prepared to call us as safe.

I think we're one big win like that away from laying down the law in this relegation struggle.

If we got a draw I'd stop short of that, but I'd be of the mind that on 26 points we'd easily rack up another 10-14 points from the remaining 10 games to get safe.

I'd be scared if I were a Palace fan now. They're basically relying on Zaha finding form to keep them up, yet he is off at the end of the season on a free transfer and doesn't look like he is interested in getting involved in a relegation scrap.

Zaha will be the reason they stay up. Like we had Richarlison last season to keep us up through sheer force of will Zaha will do the same for them.
