I saw the game yesterday, and have seen a couple of other games with Palace. From what I have seen, I would be very nervous if I were a Palace supporter. It's a bit the same trend as in Nice for Vieira, his teams tend to be monotonous and unimaginative, instead relying on individual performances.
I just heard a debate on TalkSport about Palace. Apparently they've only played one team outside the top 10 over the last 11 games.

The question is whether they can do better with relegation threatened teams in the remainder of their games.

I think they'll get out of it. I cant see them continuing this form.

Obvioulsy they play Arsenal next so their relegation worries wont abate before the break for internationals.

I know hes not exactly an unknown quantity, but Toney's assist last night makes me particularly envious for what we are clearly lacking.

A flick on from a goal kick?

I’d like to think any of Calvert Lewin Simms or Onana could manage that.

This place would probably be arguing that it’s not a proper goal if we ever did that whereas when Brentford and Toney does it it’s good.

I was more envious of Wissa running behind the defence anticipating the flick. We could definitely do with more players doing that.

Kind of I suppose. What I meant was that there is no point sacking a manager after you're well into the second half of the season. Either sack the manager no later than Dec/Jan or stick with them for the duration of the season
I suppose it depends what the situation is. If you're in freefall then sometimes you've just got to take action to show that you're doing something. We'll obviously never know but I think we'd have been relegated if we hadn't replaced Smith with Moyes in March for example.

It's all about form and what your team have available. Forest over the last 6 games are second bottom in the form table and they're injuries are piling up. They also have a very tough run in.

If they beat Newcastle they'll feel an awful lot better. If they dont they're starting on a slippery slope to the bottom IMO.

This is the form table over the last 6.

im not sure on this, you may have a point, but do palace have players up for a fight, personified usually by the manager, see Lampard & Dyche as examples. Though unfortunately, i just don't think Lampard might be a good manager.

I think the only change from palace will if they change their manager. hopefully they don't and they don't, if you see what i mean. Current form has us above them at the end of the season..

I think wolves are a better version of us.

Good goalie, decent cbs, decent in the middle but zero quality upfront.

That Pedro Neto is back though who looked very good before his injury so if he's back fit they'll easily stay up as you say.

Good manager as well

Probably/maybe

Except they have 27 points after 27 games, are joint lowest scorers in the league, and -17 goal difference

There’s probably 3 worse teams but I wouldn’t be TOO confident if I was a Wolves fan

Hard to say, a lot changes quickly in football. However, Palace do not seem to have much faith in what they are doing, and have much less intensity in their game than the other PL teams they are fighting against.

The quality in this Palace team isn't much to brag about either, so they have no advantage there. I think they will drop like a stone. Fortunately for us.

Have found it useful to look at what's happened since Dyche took over - we are, essentially, right in the middle of the pack as regards form goes. Wolves mirroring us. If we can maintain that sort of mid-table form, we'll be fine, but we do have a more difficult run in than others and the games we've dropped points in have (largely) been the ones you might have expected us to do so in.

Encouragingly for us, Leeds, Forest and, particularly, Palace have really struggled over that period. Palace though have a far easier run-in than ourselves and it's arguable that a lot of their recent poor form has been down to the tough fixtures they've had recently.

Interesting...

Defo think Palace's run against the bottom half will get them out the mix

I'd be scared if I were a Palace fan now. They're basically relying on Zaha finding form to keep them up, yet he is off at the end of the season on a free transfer and doesn't look like he is interested in getting involved in a relegation scrap.

Aside from Wilf being off on a free at the end of the season, none of that is true.

Forest are heading in only one direction. If Johnson is out for 5/6 weeks they're gone.

EDIT: it looks like they've ruled out him as a long term injury, but even with him they're tumbling.
