I think the old philosophy of giving a manager time is a bit outdated. I think this season shows you should sack your manager early, or back them for the long haul.
I think almost all managerial appointments are for the long haul ( I don't include interim managers) but that goes out the window as soon as you start losing games and go on a bad run.Veira had a really good first season practically building a team from scratch. This season the wheels have come off since the world cup but I can't see them being relegated and he has shown enough to warrant another season.
I want Palace to start winning games (apart from us) as they can do us a lot of favours over the coming fixtures.

I think they'll still win some games in the run in. Got another away win in them and could see them going to West Ham and pressing them into errors. Could certainly beat Palace with the state they'e in and them at home to Bournemouth will decide fate of both, I can't see the loser of that game staying up.

Losing tonight though means they must win some of those rather than perhaps being o.k with a couple of draws.

Watching them tonight and they just don't have much quality at all in final third, endless options but it's very much quantity over quality. They put on that big striker and didn't find him with one cross for the 30 minutes he was on, even Rondon got on the end of the odd cross last season.

Ideal scenario is they beat some of Bournemouth, West Ham but don't pick up much in other games so finish on 31-32 points. Pretty much what you've predicted I think Dave! ;)
Southampton cant stay up with those players. Beyond Ward-Prowse they are terrible. They should have been (and I think will turn out to be with results in the next few games) this season's Norwich...cut adrift.

If Forest dont beat Newcastle tomorrow night I can see them joining them with Bournemouth.

If we get a win in the next 3 games we'll stay up. I cant see us not picking up 12 more points if that happens.

I saw the game yesterday, and have seen a couple of other games with Palace. From what I have seen, I would be very nervous if I were a Palace supporter. It's a bit the same trend as in Nice for Vieira, his teams tend to be monotonous and unimaginative, instead relying on individual performances.

Forest could beat Southampton at home though....and Wolves. So those two wins and they're on 32 points and then it's one shock win away from bring very close to staying up. They drew 0-0 at Brighton so won't be writing that game off at all either when they play them at City Ground where they rarely lose.

Newcastle going there tomorrow night and winning 2 or 3 nil will certainly unnerve them though.

Wolves win.

They'll easily get out of the relegation fight anyway so they have to dispatch Leeds for the rest of us.
I think wolves are a better version of us.

Good goalie, decent cbs, decent in the middle but zero quality upfront.

That Pedro Neto is back though who looked very good before his injury so if he's back fit they'll easily stay up as you say.

Good manager as well

It's all about form and what your team have available. Forest over the last 6 games are second bottom in the form table and they're injuries are piling up. They also have a very tough run in.

If they beat Newcastle they'll feel an awful lot better. If they dont they're starting on a slippery slope to the bottom IMO.

I thought they bossed Newcastle up there for large parts of that game. They're home form is very good. Even though they're just 2 points ahead of us, there's no way they're serioulsy threatened with relegation.
