Even more frustrating when I keep seeing rumours and links to the strikers we are going to buy in summer, and they are the same ones we were after in Jan. Not just overpaying (which would only really have been something like paying £20m compared to their original price tag of £15m) someone strong like Gyokeres now looks increasingly stupid. Why we faffed around flirting with speedy wingers that all went to Southampton I’ll never know, given a speedy winger wouldn’t have got near any of Dyches first 4 starting lineups.
Don't believe any of it all put out there to distract doesn't matter who we sign in the summer when we need to stay up NOW. If they were desperate they would have bought him

Fear we are going this season you can only cheat the drop so many times when your club is run like a circus and the owner and board do everything they can to hamstrung us with their utter incompetence and delusion. Our only hope is Dyche can scrape some results and pull out some unexpected wins and Dom comes back and fires but it's getting slimmer odds by the game. The Forest and Brentford games could be pivotal we need reults in those two.
Listening to Dyche earlier I worry we might not see Dom again this season ( or possibly again ) He's literally put no timeline on his return and didn't exactly fill me with much hope that he even believes he'll be back..

Get Gray and Garner in the team at least at home anyway, I would rather go down fighting..

Really struggling to see what people see as the best case outcome with this scenario?
It is scary. But you have people that are terrible at their jobs in charge and nothing seems to change. In the perfect world they stay up and get sold and everyone except Dyche is gone. But last season caused nothing to change. The team is broken and until the people spending the money change, relegation is inevitable. If not this year, then soon.

I’d say it is comfortably the best league in the world and the large majority of sides are pretty good.
I'd add that our attacking options are comfortably the worst in the league. All other teams in the league have better goal scoring potential than us. We might have better options than 1 or 2 teams in defence and midfield but it's a bit touch and go IMO. If Dyche keeps us up he'll have more than earned his bonus.

The league is full of teams of absolute dross mate (us included), that’s why mid table isn’t fantasy land. Don’t believe the hype of the prems “best league in the world” claptrap.

A bit of organisation, workrate and effort (Dyche has brought these so far) and a decent striking option (the board have killed us there) and you’re right up there with this squad.
Perhaps, but we don't have a striking option. If we did we might be mid-table but until then we're lower end strugglers which aligns with the quality at our disposal.

9 points cover 12 - 20th place.

We aren't dead yet
The more relevant stat is 3 points covering 14th to 19th.

People saying that other club's will have the edge with their strike forces...why are they easily in reach of us then?

I see how we're playing for and under this manager and I see a level of consistency in getting in the opposition box and getting shots off and that's handed us 2 wins from 4 games.

Be aware of this: none of our relegation rivals above or below view us as 'inevitably' going down.

Dave, if we lose to Forest what chance would you give us of survival?

WE CANNOT SCORE GOALS

On the off chance we do score one, then that means absolutely nothing can go wrong for us to win 3 points. Can't have a deflection go in. Can't have a worldie beat us. And on and on. The margins are much, much too small.

We've scored more than one goal TWICE this season. And that was with more attacking options than we currently have

I don't doubt that we could, in theory, find our way out of this. And yes, there are other bad teams around us and we are just a few points from 13th. But in order to win games to get us up the table, we have to score. I just don't see where, realistically, the goals are going to come from.

Can we really hope we score off two corners/set pieces per game? Is that a strategy? Or a hope
