I think your Kenwight theory is the wrong way around, if we go down nobody is paying the price Moshiri wants so we keep this status quo.... more likely to be sold and move Billy Liar on if we stay up.

Going down would be catastrophic, in the second season we would undoubtedly take a point deduction, all our best players would move on at cut price deals because we`d simply have to sell. We`d be stuck with the players we have always been stuck with on big money....

If we didnt get back in the 1st season we would be next Sunderland or having points deductions like Derby, as I said before going down is THE worst thing that can happen, Everton likely to be more fighting to even exist with the current debt levels and FFP. Anything not bolted down would need to be sold and the 100s of men and women working at Goodison, FF and The Liver Building will all be made redundant....
Yes but apart from all that....

heard an interesting interview, I think it was Kevin Long talking about Sean Dyche as a manager.
He described the team talk straight after the game they got relegated.
He said there was no postmortem or picking apart what went wrong.
Instead Dyche gathered them all and asked them who was with him next season.
He told them he'd take them straight back up and asked for their loyalty. He did.

If we go down, I doubt there'll be any big shake up.
I'd say there's more likely to be bigger changes if we stay up!
Key difference, they were a group of players who gave their all, but weren't good enough. Our players are comfortably good enough to have us near mid table, but the effort is majorly lacking.

I'm tired of seeing no-one make a run into the box, no-one trying to get on the end of things, no-one even attempting a shot. They're mainly a mixed group of cowards and players who simply don't care.

I am in a strange place with this team. I root for them every game and hope they find a way to survive. But at the same time, I worry that survival will just keep the same ownership and management in place and put the team right back in the relegation fight next year. Going down might be the only way to really cause the top to bottom changes the team needs in the long term.

All this relegation fight has at least added another dimension to our interest
Eg if you want to visit Rotherham next season you can support them on telly tonight against Swansea

Should have had the world cup to bleep test them into submission.
Should have had the January window to sharpshooter some extra talent in.
Shouldn't have to be dealing with the fallout of the fight picked by those heels on the board.

Shambles!

oh yea, totally agree.
I think we're in trouble here, just looking for some positives.
I do think the likes of Gana and Doucoure will like playing under him.
Given a few more games that confidence might come.
Unfortunately, the opposition will have figured out our only goal thereat is tarkowski at the far post on corners.

To Dyches detriment, I don't think he'll switch coady for mina.
Mina is a very capable defender but can also cause hassle in the oppo box at set pieces.
Seems like the perfect foil to draw markers off other players.
Cant really fathom him sitting on the bench.

What's worse is that if coady gets injured, It'll be Mick Keane coming on for him.

4 home wins and an away win + 1/2 draws should be enough....or 3 home wins and 2 away wins and a couple of draws...or 4 wins in total and 5 draws.

The thing to remember is that all other teams right up to the 14th position have their trials and tribulations of various types to sort out, and that not one of them can breathe any easier than Everton.

I think we've reached a good level of performance and we've been rewarded with it by taking 2 wins from 4 games. If we keep that up we're defo safe. We might not have the big goal scorer, but we're playing in a way that we've worked around that and are creating a lot of chances and we just need to get our noses in front in matches to take all 3 points.

We won't win any game that the opposition score and there are too many games coming up against sides that have no trouble hitting the back of the net.

Brentford - 9th
Tottenham - 4th
Fulham - 6th
Newcastle - 5th
Man City - 2nd
Bournemouth - 19th

I have no confidence we'll grab more than maybe 2 wins in that. Those first five are really really difficult games.

I'm not, tbh.

Arsenal game - forget it. Forest and Brentford: we can get 4-6 points there. It's whoever gets the first goal in almost every game we have left this season as far as I'm concerned. If we take the lead 7/8 times in the remaining games then we can realistically get a haul of between, say, 16-20 points.

We've taken the lead twice under Dyche and made them pay for all 6 points.

I dont see that Dyche has done much wrong so far. He's looked to get the first goal and committed numbers into the box to get it. My only questioning of him is that we might need to go two up top in games to get that lead but he seems to be sticking with one up.
As I was saying, I'm struggling to see where our next points are coming from and you have confirmed my concerns.

Just hope you are right...and, FWIW, I agree that Dyche has done nothing wrong but is having to play with the hand he's been dealt.
