Massive weekend ahead. All the teams in the bottom half either playing each other or teams right at the top:

Us v Villa
Fulham v Wolves
Leeds v Southampton
Leicester v Arsenal
West Ham v Forest
Bournemouth v City
Palace v Liverpool

A huge opportunity to both put a bit of a gap between us and bottom three AND pull the likes of Palace, Leicester, Villa, Forest and Wolves into the mix.

We cannot drop more points against bottom half teams at home because our other fixtures are solid. If we do, we'll likely need to go away to a top side and get a result, which isn't happening. Draws won't be enough if we drop points at home against poor opposition, which Villa definitely are.

Absolutely must win this. Keep up the Dyche home form and we stay up comfortably.

Villa Brentford, Fulham, Newcastle, City, Spurs, Bournemouth left at home. Take 13+ points from those 7 games and we'll stay up easily as we'll not lose every game we don't win, not on Dychy's watch.

People wanted him gone after Bournemouth. I didn’t I wanted him backed early in the window with some attackers. Then when we got a beating from Brighton I new his time was up. I hold my hands up I was wrong it would have been best if he was gone before the wolves game. No way does Dyche lose to wolves and Southampton at 1 0 up like we was in both.

Them 2 game at home when we was leading in both where massive. I think if we had Dyche for them the table would be looking a whole lot different.

Everton 27
Palace 26
Forest 25
Leicester 24
Bournemouth 21
West ham 20
Wolves 20
Leeds 19
Southampton 15

I would feel a whole lot happier if we was in this position I would say we would probably be more a less safe. that said a win at home against Villa I will start believing we can pull our selfs safe before the last game of the season.

Wolves for me to honest, should have seen it after the two Bournemouth games but thought he might sort it out over the world cup

If we beat Villa I'd be very confident of PL survival.

3 wins out of 4 is title winning form.

If we beat Villa then confidence - which is half the battle in these situations - will soar.

It'll also mean that we've beaten a top side, a middle of the table side and a relegation outfit. That shows we're capable of points every week. Winning one or two away from home would be the last thing to add after that. And it'd mean we've found a way of operating with and without a big mobile target man under Dyche.

Beating Villa would be dreamland stuff, three wins out of four. So, not going to happen. That kind of thing does not happen to Everton.

So, I am hoping we can take a point from this. A defeat would be disastrous and put us back on the rollercoaster.

In other news, I am relaxed that Leeds appear to be appointing Javi Gracia. Any man who can send a side in a cup final out to lose 0-6 is a spiffing choice for a relegation rival's managerial position in my book.

…looks like Leeds have a new manager;

I'm semi-confident...not as confident I was with beating Leeds.

We beat Arsenal and then it was a tall order to go to Anfield and get the back to back victory. This time we beat Leeds and now face another home game right after and against a team not exactly unbeatable and not exactly in form.

We'll have to score two to win, but we've been creating chances at home in the last two games so not improbable that we do that.

I'm waiting on the fitness of Onana, but I'm going go for a 2-1 win to us if we start with him. It'll be more difficult without his presence up front especially.

I was thinking Villa have goals in them so we would probably need 2 to win. We did keep Arsenal out tho who have more goals in them than villa. So we could possibly scrap a 1 0 maybe. I am just happy Ings isn’t there anymore or we would definitely need 2.

We've been undone by Buendia in recent games. If we keep him and Coutinho under control and Tarkowski and Onana outcompetes Mings in their box we can beat these.

Big style. Blame the club though. Just like we know McNeil, Gray, Mykolenko et al aren't good enough, they don't pick themselves and don't purposely do a bad job. Lampard the same, and you ain't resigning from a job that pays about £5m a year. All comes down to the clowns in the boardroom, although yep Frank was absolutely out of his depth.

It’s a strange game to predict: Villa in their last 3 games have scored 5 goals but landed 0 points, we’ve scored 2 but have 6 points. I’ve no idea what to expect on Saturday.
