We all thought Lampard should have been sacked before the World Cup.
If you had given the new manager 4 weeks to work with the squad and a forward in January we would have been fine. All on the board this.
It's not all the board, Moshiri gave him the vote of confidence publically on Talk Sport, Frank staying too long had nothing to do with the board.... in fact Moshiri even blamed the fans

15 games to go.

We're on 21 points.

19 points gets us to the traditional safety 40 points. (Unlikely to need 40, 36 was safety 21/22, 29 in 20/21, 35 in 19/20)

5 Wins. 4 Draws. 6 Defeats.

7 Home.
8 Away.

Aston Villa H
Arsenal A
Nottingham Forest A
Brentford H
Chelsea A
Tottenham H
Man Utd A
Fulham H
Crystal Palace A
Newcastle H
Leicester A
Brighton A
Man City H
Wolves A
Bournemouth H

Oh sh!t

38 points probably keeps us up and we play 38 games so a good guide to look at is try and keep up points wise with games played. We’ve currently played 23 but only have 21 points so a little behind where we need to be. Beat Villa and we’ll be 24 games played and 24 points, bang on the money. The quicker we can get a few points ahead of games played to give us a bit of breathing space, the better.

Keep looking at the teams around us and thinking we will need close to 40pts minimum to stay up.
Then realise that West Ham have won 1 in 11, Leeds 1 in 10, and they only have 15 games left to win at least 5.
Hammers have Forest at home next, if they don't win that the fans will turn toxic, Moyes will be gone and it will take them a few weeks to replace.
European football will come back and be a hindrance also.
Leeds have a decent run of games but if they don't beat Saints next wknd they will fear the worst also.

1 Good result = we're safe.
1 Bad result = we're doomed.
1 Good result = we're safe.

....tune in for next week's thrilling episode
There’s green shoots though.
I’m not having panic attacks when we concede a corner, Pickford’s not keeping us alive in game’s single handed.
It feels different.

After the Brighton game it felt inevitable, now we’ve every chance.

We’re improving, they’re remaining the same.

If they sack their managers there’s nobody out there to replace them and make the difference.

Spot on, Dave. Consistency is key at this point in the season given our situation. If we can play consistent sound football, we will be okay. I feel we are in good hands with Dyche. And like you said, beat Villa, and I too am very confident about our survival. On to the next one.
I forget the exact words Dyche used, but it was something like "we have to not just have the good days but also to raise the level of the down days". Stuff like that and "stay in it to win it" are his way of identifying that collapses in the past have corroded confidence. Even in defeat we have keep it to as narrow a loss as possible, and also accept that a draw might be the best option in some matches we've lost a grip on.

That's the consistency he's talking about, as much as consistency of performance of individuals.

Easy to say, but if that group carry out his wishes we'll get out of this.

6 wins or 5 wins and 2 draws.

If we get relegated on 38/39 points I'd be highly surprised.

In the form of the last 3 games we can get wins from all the fixtures left apart from Arsenal and United away.
