My worry as well Dave, as I said to you last week, I worry that the failure to sign a centre forward may yet come back to relegate us. I tell you what though, I'm far more hopeful than I was in Lampard's final months. I honestly believe he would have had us relegated by Easter.
I'm of the opinion that confidence and consistency is everything with this group of players. It will trump the lack of an effective target man.

If we get a win next week against Villa then it'll prove to me that Dyche has got the type of consistency Lampard could never have got and that the confidence of these players is ramped right up and will fire us out of this mess.

I've said for the past few weeks that we have a better quality squad than 6 or 7 teams in this league, and we do. They just need the plan put in front of them and to believe in it.

Beat Villa and I for one am going to be very confident about our survival.

Hope I’m not jinxing it, but the one team I haven’t been particularly worried about is Bournemouth. They are a poor side, and looking at this, they could be cut adrift over the next few weeks.
I felt the same but apparently they spent a fortune in January so who knows what impact those players will have on them?

Leicester are only 3 points ahead of us. They are absolutely in our sights.

We need to claw our way past every single team we can.
Leicester will occasionally drop positions like any team in he league and they will also have a run of tough games in quick succession again like any team, but I would put my house on them not being in the relegation scrap. I think they finish comfortably mid table, possibly top half. They’ve just smashed Spurs 4-1 after going a goal behind. They have goals in them, which unfortunately we do not. We suffer from the same issues as Bournemouth, Southampton, Leeds, Crystal Palace, etc. Leicester do not

Need Spurs to not throw in one of their characteristic Spursy performances today. A win takes them into the top 4, and that makes me nervous

United beating Leicester would probably be helpful as well, although I do find it hard to see Leicester being in the mix come May regardless what happens today.

A Spurs win could put Moyes under serious pressure and if West Ham are silly enough to sack him again, that squad could easily go under if the replacement isn’t correct.

Yeah, this idea of eliminating struggling sides from the relegation battle should be filed next to "expected defeats" against other bottom-dwelling outfits. There was a point this season where people were discounting the possibility of winning against all kinds of dross, and it begged the question: if we cannot take points from these sides, who are we taking points from? Granted, we did have Fan-Friendly Frank in charge at the time, but...

No side is out of the relegation battle until they are. So, Wolves, Leicester, and Forest are well within our sights. A bad run for any of them and sheer panic could break out causing them to spiral further. The longer these sides are in there, the better for us.

Every point is there to be played for. When we go to Arsenal, that is not an "expected defeat". That is a chance to take a surprise point. Or three. Call it a bonus, if you like, but we cannot just write it off as a loss. Every single point is critical now. All should be fought for. With belief.

Same results yesterday from team showed this both chelsea and city lost at home, every point will count this season.

Yes, this is my hope. If they destabilise themselves, I think that's pretty good news for us. That could well happen with defeat today. In some ways, we can't lose if WHU lose today. They either sack Moyes and destabilise themselves or they reluctantly keep faith (for now) despite the misgivings - and give themselves even less chance to save themselves when they eventually jettison him (which seems inevitable if they lose again today).

They've been unhappy with him for a while. They won't do a Bill and stay loyal regardless (because of lack of alternatives due to lack of cash). So he won't really get the time he needs. They might pull the trigger tonight. But that seems a little late - and is Pochettino really going to go in there? Nah, looks a job for Benitez. Just the man you need to bring everyone together when the ship is sinking...
