I was anxious as hell today and am normally content. I think it's because their was so much riding on it. It felt flat today tbh but I get it.

Dyche is a seriously impressive individual and one I hope in time proves to have been quite under appreciated within the modern day English game.

I agree. I actually wanted Dyche on a couple of recent appointments. I think he will progress us slowly but sustainably.

He was limited at Burnley, but every season had a bottom 6 wage and transfer budget, and players who were not as good as what we have here (even if some of ours are only marginally better). But essentially he performed to his league rank/slightly better 6/7 times out of 8. On a couple of occasions he outperformed.

I would liken it to this team club being a mid table outfit. Imagine 8 seasons where 1 we got CL, 1 we got Europa, 4 we finished top half and 2 we finished say 15-12th. To me that would be an improvement.

He may do better, especially if more money could be made available, but over a 3-5 year period think he could stabilise us.

Imagine if you’re Forest, you’ve just got a point against City late on, and you’ve actually LOST ground on the teams below.

And you still have an injury crisis.

Or if your Leeds, or Palace, or the pressure on West Ham tomorrow.

Or frankly Wolves, who probably thought theyd escaped, but have 3 pretty tough fixtures coming up.

Imagine if Dyche had taken over Leeds and beaten United at home and then beaten us whilst we had every manager in the world turning us down and Unsworth coaching the first team.

That’s the position Leeds are in.
Is hard for any manager to come in now same with southampton would not shock me if they left both who they have in charge now. Is a risk getting somebody in who has no prem exp villa and wolves both gave the time with break. While dyche will already kno about the teams in the league, reqlly hope this time we have made the right choice to get a manager in and build something

I was thinking this earlier.

I dont think coaches are going to be willingly going to PL clubs in and around the bottom 3 now. Leeds have gone from talk of Poch/Tuchel to Harry Redknapp had a mention! Why risk your reputation? You can do a Bielsa and revisit in the summer.

I think some managers went, because they had the promise of January funds and the World Cup break, but both of those have gone now.

We got lucky with Dyche. The moment we got him, had a load of West Ham mates gutted we got him, and said to me we would now stay up. It's funny how other people view things.

To answer your question, if another side got Dyche, or Allardyce I'd be unhappy, as it would give them a great chance to survive. I hope someone appoints Jesse Marsch.

Not that I’m totally writing a handful of the tougher fixtures off, but looking at the schedule there are a few ‘bounce back’ fixtures that are massively important

Forest away straight after Arsenal away
Spurs home straight after Chelsea away
Fulham home after United away

A run of good form just has to be more points than you’d expect after a run of games, they’ll be setbacks along the road naturally. Which is why I think the above fixtures are massive. If we don’t get a good result in those tough away games we have to bounce back like we did this week after the derby, and hopefully Dyche can motivate them again successfully.

It's sort of what Burnley did last season wasnt it? There comes a point where you dont want the further upheaval of sacking another manager, and you can plan properly in the summer.

We just have not had it for years now the squad has players in from all managers. Is why i hope the likes of kt and the scouts have already started making plans , with us hopefully staying up we need massive changes to make sure that this does not happen again next season

Villa getting Emery in when they did was excellent for them. 13 points of a possible 18 in his first 6 games has pretty much saved them.

Hopefully Dyche can do similar and get results vs villa and forest in the next 3 as the run of games vs Chelsea, spurs, man united and then Fulham is going to be a tough few weeks.

It's almost like bringing in an actual football manager is better than having a guy whose reputation is based entirely off their playing ability.

5 wins needed I reckon and a couple of draws.

60/40 for me we can do it
I think four wins would be enough with a good few draws thrown in.

We are on 21 with 15 to play. If we can win 4, and draw 5 or 6 that takes us to 38/39, which is generally enough. But it’s all ifs and buts, I still feel we are going to need to get a result out of a game we aren’t expected to, like in the Arsenal win.

I feel forest luck will run out soon. City should have put four or five on them. Leeds did more than enough to beat them as well. They will hit a sticky patch soon - hope it coincides with us beating them.
Their goal difference tells a story. It’s horrific. I think the five point gap they currently enjoy could disappear quite quickly.
