Not true.

I've just done the math and we spent €130m under martinez and we made €120m.

Thats a €10m loss and the vast majority of that income was on one player we originally didn't want.

Also don't forget the fact he turned down VVD for fumes mori.
And got Lukaku by mistake as he wanted Demba Ba on loan.

Just think how hard those words hit. Irrespective whether you want the player or not. We've potentially lost out on a player to the mighty Bournemouth. That is now who our rivals are. From Spurs to Villa to West Ham to a team who summon a crowd of about 9k for some home league games. Troubled times
This is where Frank and Thelwell come into it! They should be ringing the player and saying something along the lines of before you make a decision at least let me get you to Finch Farm/Goodison for a look around etc. Surly Frank and Kev call him and say exactly that to him, we like you, we want you, come and play for us in front of 40k soon to be 55k, not Bournemouth for 10k a week.

He left Bournemouth to go on to bigger things and got in the champions league team of the year last season. Why go back to a small club like Bournemouth. I know we’re struggling at the moment, but who would pick Bournemouth over Everton
*check table
* check salary on offer
* check for relegation clauses

I mean it nicely mate, but it dowsnt matter.

We have no idea if we have lost out or not. I don't know how strong the interest was. But even if we did, losing out to people because they will pay more is not.the core problem. The core problem is we havent signed good enough players.

That's my concern. Are we buying good enough players.

And Bournemouth are in the PL, so are as much our rivals as anyone else. This football club is in a mess because we are 18th, not because of the attendances of other teams in the league.
