I’ve got to have a proper word with his Dad.
As an aside he refers to his other Grandads team as “Topnum.” lol

In what way do the players you list make us defensively strong? We are 4th from bottom, have lost to most of our relegation rivals, inc conceding 7 to Bornemouth and thus, almost certainly, heading to the Championship. Defensively strong? Jeez. Coffee, wake up, and smell.I think a lot will come down to the January window. Wolves have the ability to spend big as needed as they've shown with Cunha. Forest might do better if they don't spend anything so that the squad getting to know each other doesn't have to start all over again, but given their owner, it wouldn't surprise me if they signed another 5 players, and about only 2 of them will be given a chance to play. Southampton nobody really knows, they're owned by the richest man in Serbia, but who knows if he's willing to spend, or if he'll just spring some serbian players out of nowhere. Bournemouth with new owners might be tempted into making a splash, but I can't see them being able to sign anyone significant. West Ham will probably sign a few too and so will Leeds, but I'd doubt Leeds especially have much to spend.
Personally I think we'll likely be ok as long as the spine of Pickford, Tarkowski, Coady, Gana and Onana stay injury and suspension free. Better to be defensively strong and offensively weak as you'll often nick the odd goal, than be free scoring, but garbage at the back, as strikers form dips and troughs throughout the season, and teams figure out how to stop your system from scoring. It might be tight, but as long as things are kept steady as we go we'll be fine
How is he still in a job? Mindboggling.
Yeah, I think a reliable target man is a must, regardless of how limited he is ability-wise.Unless we get a minimum of two forwards we're going. We're not going to get real quality so i'd take even a grafter who is at least a presence/brute.
This is so desperate.
I think this is an excellent post. The window to "do something" is wide open for a very short period of time. It started in November after the Bournemouth debacle and stays open, in my view, until the evening of the Brighton game when, like a Sky transfer window, it "slams shut". After that, I think we'll have to accept that we are finally going to drop down where we have, arguably, been destined to fall to for almost 30 years now.Reaction at the end reminded me of what Silva got after losing at home to Norwich in late November 2019 and all the "sacked in the morning" chants.
Think Silva had two more games after that.
Lampard really really really has to beat Brighton. If he dosen't then there's an 11 day break to next prem match so you'd think a caretaker for FA cup tie and then someone new in for Southampton at home which is a classic new manager bounce game (like Lampard had with Leeds at home).
Something needs to be done now as performances are really spiralling out of control and that's being reflected in the final scores now.

I think that’s an improvement on last year but Burnley went down finishing 11 th as regards goals conceded .Our goals conceded is only beaten by the top 3, the RS and Chelsea.
Unless things drastically change I can't see us getting beyond 36 points. Maybe 38 at a push. Whether that's enough to stay up or not I don't know. I honestly don't believe this squad is that bad either but here we are so what do I know.

if you’re interested do you want to guess who the three lowest scorers were ? I’ll give you a clue we aren’t playing any of them in the league this season .
We need Dominic Calvert-Lewin and we need attacking players in asap or we’re deep in it .
