Good to hear from you and that you finally have a new fridge. Probably to take some time for the meds. to work but hope you start to feel the benefit soon. Agree with you about the team, by the way.

It can take around 6 weeks to see a therapeutic impact from the meds so you are still early days in that respect.

Re the football, thought we had the dream coaching team myself but it’s not going as I would have hoped. Couple of forwards in and we will be a different beast though.
 
Good evening friends. Another rainy day here, that's about three in a row. Non stop. One of the fields at the back has turned into a lake - complete with seagulls. No idea where they have come from. Well, the car failed its MOT. Issues with coils, handbrake and a few other things. I've pretty much decided to get rid of it, It's old, has 111,000 miles on it and is just past its 11th birthday. To add insult to injury, as I was walking back to the garage to collect it, three crs splashed me as they drove past!

Nothing much else going on. Pleased you're back @Terrarian Have a nice night all.

No luck with the MOT but congratulations on the new seagulls.

Thats only 10000 miles a year. With a new MOT I would keep it, drive it till it blows, unless serious coin needs paying down the line. But thats me. High mileage, steady cars, circa £500 a pop has been my car history for years.
 
Quit driving, far too many cars about. At some point car production needs looking at there's already a problem with houses having 2,3,4 cars, there's nowhere to park except pavements and that winds me up. Some streets round here have cars fully up on both pavements so people have no choice but to walk on the road.

Rant over lol I hate cars if you didn't know.

As long as it is not rust I would keep it ,if it is a good starter as well .Those things you mention could go on a newer car I was watching a Renault Laguna that had driven 590,000kms and they tell the truth here or you get your money back ,the guy said it ran great ,gears fine body still good . The only reason I didn't go for it was the distance to pick it up with flying out on Saturday.

Once I am eligible for a buss pass I fully intend to significantly reduce my driving. State pension age here in Durham.

That's true Working from home has massively reduced my mileage. It was a 36 mile round trip to the office. 170 miles a week just going to work.

I get that, don’t like driving anywhere I don’t know and will get a train or bus if I can.

It was only when I started Uni in Belfast that I realised that parking was an issue in cities. It had honestly never occurred to this country lad before that :)
 
Good morning and Happy Friday folks!

Today my exciting life entails hoovering and mopping before a run around Tesco about lunchtime. Rock n Roll.

Getting new floors down on Tuesday (my oil leak nightmare almost over) and then I can start to move furniture back to its rightful place again. Goodness I missed my little office over the last year as all my work stuff and the kids’ homework spilled out around the house and I just can’t do clutter. Everything in it’s right place and all that.

Good advice here. Unless the cost is overly excessive, you're likely going to pay an excess above and beyond to get a new car.

As long as you keep the key parts to standard, most cars will run to 150,000 miles plus with little issue.
