Burnley had a solid defence. Pope, Tarks and Collins/Mee is really the same level as Pickford, Tarks and Coady/Holgate.
They got relegated because they couldn’t score goals. (McNeil being part of that issue)
We’ll be in a scrap at the bottom without further attacking quality in January.

They still shipped 53 goals though. That’s just under a goal and a half every game.

We’re currently at less than a goal a game after 12 games. If we keep that rate up its highly unlikely we go down conceding less than 38 goals.

Massive trouble if either Tarks or Coads get sidelined for a long period. Even if they don't, can they maintain their form all season?

All our forward players are utter hoop.
Our main front 3 cost 2.5 mil!. I am confident that we will get a wide forward in to add goals in January. Who I don’t know but that’s the job of the scouts and Kevin to identify.

Goal difference normally starts to tell a story. I think the teams in trouble are forest wolves and Bournemouth. Other teams will struggle at certain periods and it will be tight. I think we are better than at least 6 sides this season and if we add in January with more attacking options we will be comfortable.

Both have robust fitness records. Didn't Coady go seasons without missing a single game for Wolves?

Only issue is he can't play on Boxing day but it's at home so one of Godfrey/Mina/Holgate should be o.k to step in alongside Tarks.

They are 3 and 2 points away from 15th, hardly dead and buried. Newcastle hadn’t won a game at this point last season.
They look comfortably the 2 worst teams in the league regardless of point tallys. Newcastle signed a world class midfielder and 2 good defenders and appointed a good manager in jan. Unless Mendes pulls a rabbit out the hat wolves aren't doing that and the forest owner won't want to keep sinking money in them.

Absolutely dead and buried, they look terrible. Apparently we are super dreadful in attack and Wolves have half of our goals. Forest have scored 8 and allowed 28. Nobody is arguing its mathematically impossible for them to win a bunch, but that they are so bad they arent going to. At this point its a question of who the 3rd team is, and why is it Bournemouth vs Southampton.
