we've literally a whole new midfield this year if you factor in iwobi only started playing there towards end of last season.

Yeah slowly the squad is being transformed, its why im fully positive about the next few years

Could be an effective option from the bench, especially with his work rate against tiring legs.

He put in some disgraceful performances last season but he can be more effective in this kind of midfield with a bit less responsibility asked of his passing ability and more licence to just attack the box and harry the opposition into mistakes high up the pitch.

Only as good as your weakest links though, over the last 18 months, Thelwell, Rafael Benitez and Frank have upgraded certain parts of the pitch, well mostly the back line, now we need to really sort this midfield

No one is going to take the first bit seriously while you continue to throw the second bit's name back at everyone! It's a wonder you didn't manage to drop Kenwright's name in there as well somehow!

Pattetsen is an upgrade on Cokeman, Myko is an upgrade on Lucas, Gray walks jnto our team ......

With Alan and Gomes gone, we need to keep this guy, unless we are getting someone else in. At the moment we have Onana, Gana and Iwobi as the first choice central midfield. But it’s a long season. Doucoure will get chances and I would think with suspensions and injuries he will still probably get 10 league starts and sub appearances and cup appearances as well, depending on how we progress.

Not sure, I was happy to see Maupay and McNeil get on today. Either way got to trust Lampard and what his vision is for the team

Maybe but you can forget just how bad a player actually is when they don't play.

He is well down the centre midfield list now.still think he has something to offer but think his lack of ability on the ball doesn’t fit in with Lampard’s preferences.
