Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Hi all. Train pass from yesterday was still valid today, not being one to pass up a freebie, especially in first class, we have been to London today. Lovely day for walking so went to Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, saw Buckingham Palace, at Mr G’s request, despite it not being good for my republican credentials I agreed in the interests of family harmony. lol We then went to Camden Lock as grandson wanted to go there for street food. Walked back alongside the canal to Kings Cross. Here’s some pics. The Italian garden in Hyde Park.View attachment 188761View attachment 188762View attachment 188764
Brilliant photos.

I don’t blame you taking full advantage of first class.

I always say if I win the lottery I wouldn’t want to change anything about my life except first class travel.

I would get the house decorated, (I am useless), updated, (kitchen, upstairs bog), and get rid of at least half of the orchard. Might get a stone wall built down the bottom of said orchard as well.

And a new shed.

I am simple, in so many ways.

I wouldnt do decorating myself, have done but not now.

Now I could be way off here but can’t you rent the orchard out? I part own an orchard with 2 mates and someone rents it from us with free reign to profit 100% from the harvest. Armagh apples are highly sought after for cider so our rent is guaranteed.

Maybe someone local to you would be interested in a similar deal?

Its absolutely knackered mate. And there is no shortage of cider orchards round here. Coals to Newcastle. The idea is to get rid of 3 or 4 trees in Jan, plus some interlopers, cut the rest right back, so you get less apples, but better quality. Then drop them at schools, which we used to do. But covid/Nik/life put paid to that arrangement.

Quote is £600. That seems fine to me.

Here’s some of the canal between Camden Lock and Kings Cross. The flats in the gas holders priced between £810k and £3.5m (looked it up when I got home cos I’m inquisitive some may call it nosey.lol.)View attachment 188769View attachment 188770View attachment 188771View attachment 188772View attachment 188773
There is a gas holder out around JLA that I first saw about 20 years ago. Between the 4 of us we couldn’t figure out what it was although one of us said they had seen something like it on TV. We ended up asking a stranger on the bus what it was ?

Big day out in the city for the Bumpkins.

There was one near the Oval cricket ground. When the cricket was on tv it was visible, rising and falling throughout the day, used to fascinate me when I was a kid, I could never figure out how it worked, still can’t come to that. lol
