Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Not sure where Starmer stands on the Union and another vote. But I think Brexit is justification enough to go back to the people of NI, Scotland and Wales to see if they still want to remain part of the UK. Then go with the majority. There was a time when I would be disappointed to see any break up of the UK, but now I have different priorities.

As regards Slippy, I don't want him to succeed in anything. I think hate is probably a word used far too often, but there aren't many people who I would switch off if they came on the telly, and he's one of them. It's not rational really and most unlike me too.

Scotland is my most favourite place in the world. I would genuinely be sad if we broke up. As LT said unity is strength.

I'm 100% with you Fred on Stevie Mee. I take pleasure in watching him crash and burn - which isn't like me. The only downside is that it is unlikely he will ever get the Liverpool gig. I would have loved to see him take them down with him.

Starmer is on record as saying that in the event of a border poll in Ireland he would campaign to retain the union. That this is in breach of the GFA is really the sort of thing he should have known.

Worth noting that there is no actual Labour Party in NI so not as if he would lose any votes.

Yeah I hear you about Slippy but I was more content to play the long game as regards his career ?

Had a couple of really crappy days, it happens. But Mum now seems sorted, decent day as a result, log burner fired up, and our fave of steak, chips, mushrooms and peppercorn sauce later.

Still miss Nik like mad, but just now, one of the cats curled up for a kip next to some of her stuff I just cannot ever get rid of. Little, probably nothing, things sometimes make sense/comfort.

Hope your Mum is OK mate.

Hard to explain it really but I think once your head and thoughts slow down you really do appreciate the small things more than you can really comprehend. Sadly too often it takes a difficult time to help you appreciate how good life was before but the small things you see now are the roadmap.
