Moyes Plays Down January Signings Ahead of Wolves Clash

David Moyes has admitted that Everton fans should temper their expectations for new arrivals this January, suggesting that any business is more unlikely than likely.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of the visit of Wolves, the Everton manager was frank about the club’s position in the market.

“We are probably more unlikely than likely, but we’re looking out there to see what there is. We’re looking at some players and if we can add to [the squad] then we will do.” Moyes said when asked whether supporters should expect incomings this month. He confirmed the club is tracking a number of potential targets, but urged realism, noting there isn’t much movement elsewhere in the window so far.

While Moyes didn’t completely shut the door on new faces – acknowledging that situations can change quickly in January – his message was clear: Everton are preparing for the second half of the season largely with the squad they already have.

The Blues face Wolves next at Hill Dickinson Stadium on Wednesday,.
