Winger Jack Harrison made his overdue debut for Everton last night and gave fans a glimpse of what they can expect from him this season.
The 26-year-old joined the Blues in the summer on a season-long loan from Championship side Leeds United, but missed the opening weeks of the season through injury.
Handed his first game in an Everton shirt at Villa Park last night, Harrison put in an impressive display, completing around 60 minutes before withdrawing in place of Dwight McNeil.
Indeed, the winger insists that he is ‘excited to keep cracking on’ and sees an opportunity to build momentum with the upcoming fixtures.
Speaking with the official Everton website, Harrison said: “I’m excited to have the 60 minutes in the tank, but I’m excited to keep cracking on and get used to the system and the team.
I created a good chance for Dominic (Calvert-Lewin), and it was good to familiarise myself again, being back out there, and getting used to the system too.
There are more opportunities [in the coming weeks] to hopefully get some more results and really build some momentum.
I think we have some great, talented players, and when we’re organised like that, we make it really difficult for teams.”

The loan signing put in a relentless display and consistently caused confusion in the Villa defence, particularly in a dominant first half.
After getting 45 minutes of football for Everton’s U-21’s last week, it was great to finally see the 26-year-old in the senior set up, as Sean Dyche has close to a full complement of players for the first time this season.
Indeed, alongside Harrison, Dwight McNeil continues his path to full fitness following the pre-season injury he suffered at Stoke City, while Dominic Calvert-Lewin looks to be going from strength to strength.
Everton have lacked competition for places in the starting XI for some time, but the Toffees have options in a number of positions now and, as Harrison says, a real opportunity to build momentum in the coming weeks
