‘Back into the fold’: Sean Dyche hints at availability of Calvert-Lewin ahead of Arsenal game

Everton boss Sean Dyche has suggested that forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin could be available for Sunday’s game against Arsenal.

The Blues welcome the Gunners to Goodison Park Sunday with Sean Dyche looking to finally get his first three points of the season.

Indeed, it will be a testing game, however the Blues have received a boost as Sean Dyche suggests that the £1.5m forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin will come ‘back into the fold’.

The England international went off injured during last month’s 4-0 defeat at Villa Park following an unfortunate collision with goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.

The injury saw Dominic Calvert-Lewin miss two Premier League games against Wolves and Sheffield United, as well as the trip to Doncaster Rovers in the League Cup Second Round.

Fans will be hoping to see both Calvert-Lewin and Beto available for Sunday

Now speaking at his pre-match press conference and reported via Everton’s official YouTube, Dyche confirmed that the 26-year-old could be available, though confirmed loan signing Jack Harrison remains sidelined.

When asked about the availability of players returning from injury, Dyche said: “Not Jack [Harrison] he’s only just on the grass with the team, he has been on it for a longer period but actually training with us, a couple of days. He’s going to need more time.

With Dom (Calvert-Lewin), the facial injury, he’s managed to keep his fitness up which is good so he will be coming back into the fold.”

The return of DCL will be an enormous boost to Sean Dyche and with the £26m forward Beto now an option, Everton could actually have striking options ahead of Sunday’s important fixture.

Indeed, Beto is likely to start, but if Calvert-Lewin is an option off the bench, Sean Dyche could have a significant impact substitute, perhaps for the first time since his January appointment.
