Everton in the Community is offering four lucky people the chance to enter the Guinness Book of Records by taking part in a unique event at Aintree Racecourse.
Sunday 15 September will see the home of the world’s most famous steeplechase open its doors to charity fundraisers from far and wide to take part in the ‘Grandest Charity National’ dressed as pantomime horses!
Everton is on the hunt for their own ‘Blue Rum’ and requests the help of four supporters to power the Club’s official charity to victory and help raise cash for those less fortunate in the community.
This unique event will see teams of four don the costumes and tackle the famous course with a view to emulating some of the magical moments from this venue’s illustrious history.
Everton in the Community is also offering runners the added carrot of a free match ticket to the Blues’ forthcoming fixture against Newcastle United at Goodison Park on Monday 30 September at 8pm, along with enjoying an exclusive meet and greet with a first-team player prior to kick-off.
The inaugural event, hosted by Liverpool Charity and Voluntary Services and sponsored by Hampson Hughes Solicitors, is expected to attract around 2,000 attendees and, aside from the race itself, there will be live music, fairground rides, stalls and a barbeque, which promises to make for a great family day out, as well as a big fundraiser for the various charities represented. The organisers will also be looking to tempt enough participantsto break a new world record, with the most pantomime horses in one single race.
So for those Blues with a burning desire of conquering the course of Aintree, whilst potentially etching themselves into the record books, contact the Everton in the Community fundraising team either by emailing carena.duffy@evertonfc.com or calling 0151 530 5260.
Each individual runner will need to raise £125 individually or £500 collectively as a team of four and all interested parties must apply by 2 September 2013.
The Club’s thoroughbred runners will receive an Everton in the Community training pack and a branded outfit to make sure they cross the finishing post first!
