Voice In The Crowd: Robert Ormesher

In this instalment of “A Voice in the Crowd”, it’s the turn of Grand Old Team Twitter follower Robert Ormesher. I’m sure all you tweeters out there can get following Rob.

Robbie, from West Derby, is 49 and has seen many highs and lows as a blue, including the semi-final of the European Cup Winners Cup. I can assure you, he’s a top bloke, despite his reply to the last question!

How long have you been an Everton Fan?
Robbie Ormesher: All of my 49 years!

How did you become an Evertonian?
Robbie Ormesher: Simply because my dad used to take me to the game.

Your favourite game (and why)?
Robbie Ormesher: For me, it’s the semi-final of the cup winners cup. The atmosphere was brilliant and the result was brilliant.

Your favourite current player (and why)?
Robbie Ormesher: Nikica Jelavic. He’s big, strong, and knows where the net is.

Who is the greatest player to have ever played for Everton in your lifetime?
Robbie Ormesher: Neville Southall for goalkeeper, Alan Ball for outfield player.

….And the worst player?
Robbie Ormesher: A player called Glen Keeley.

If you could sign any player for Everton in January?
Robbie Ormesher: My choice would be Wayne Rooney!

Since you have been following Everton, what would your best eleven be?
Robbie Ormesher:
GK. Neville Southall
RB. Gary Stevens
CB. Brian Labone
CB. Kevin Ratcliffe
LB. Leighton Baines
RM. Trevor Steven
CM. Alan Ball
CM. Howard Kendall
LM. Colin Harvey
CF. Nikica Jelavic
CF. A fully fit Duncan Ferguson
SUBS. Howard, Royle, Mountfield, Reid, Rooney

Q-If you were manager of Everton for the day, what is the first thing you’d do?
Robbie Ormesher: Sign my son on a mega contract.

Q – Pineapple on Pizza?
Robbie Ormesher: Yes please.

Watch out, next week it could be your voice in the crowd.
