Donovan Delight At Toffees Return

USA forward Landon Donovan has expressed his delight at returning to Everton for a second spell this season.

The Californian enjoyed an excellent few months during his first stint at Goodison Park in early 2010, and he is hoping to repeat the performances that endured him to the Everton faithful this time round.

Now 29-years-old, he has joined Everton on a two month loan deal and is in line to make his debut against Bolton in January.

“It´s very good to be back, I am excited,” said Donovan to Sky Sports News.

“It´s good to see the faces and fortunately the first face I saw was that of Phil Neville, who had a lot to say. It´s good to be back and to see everyone.

“There are a few faces I had not seen before so it´s nice to meet them, and also to see the old faces. It´s good to be back in training.”

Landon has oftened expressed his admiration for the welcome he received on Merseyside for his first stint, and has openly declared that Everton is his home away from home, and as such he jumped at the chance to return to the Blues this season.

“Who wouldn´t want to come back to this? Just walking through this morning it felt good,” added Donovan.

“The minute I stepped off the plane two years ago and got to Goodison to watch Everton´s game against Carlisle, I felt wanted here, I felt respected and I felt like a piece of their family.

“And that resonates and stays with you. So when I had the opportunity this year, there was no doubt that if it could work out, then I wanted to come back.”
