Joseph Yobo has been forced to return to Everton for pre-season training after his proposed move to Fenerbahce broke down in spectacular fashion.
Yobo, 30, has publicly stated he has no desire to play for Everton today as he attempted to force through a move to the Turkish champions whom he spent last season on loan with.
However, amidst widespread accusations of match fixing in the Turkish top division – resulting in the arrest of several high level figures in Turkish football – Yobo has been unable to seal the deal with Fenerbahce and will now have to start from scratch as he looks for a new club.
Everton were banking on the sale of Joseph Yobo to provide much needed cash to improve the squad this summer. Together with the overall lack of interest in Yakubu Aiyegbeni following a mediocre loan spell at Championship side Leicester City, the Blues suddenly find their hands tied in the transfer market.
