Paddy Preview: Arsenal vs Everton

There was very little between these two sides when they met at Goodison Park back in November.

Neither side played particularly well but things were close enough to suggest that Everton can go to the Emirates and come away with a positive result.

Since that game Everton have lost just twice in twelve games in all competitions and the positive response to the absence of Tim Cahill will have been very encouraging for David Moyes. And he´ll know that Arsenal have occasionally looked vulnerable at home this season and another disciplined performance, like the one against Chelsea at the weekend, could see the title chasing Gunners struggle. Not that Moyes will be instructing his players to just sit back and try to absorb the Arsenal pressure, with Arteta and Rodwell in midfield he has players more than capable of getting on the ball and controlling the pace of the game. However Arsenal are all about their passing and movement and by getting close and denying them space they can start to falter.

Louis Saha´s return to form and fitness will be key in this game with the Frenchman´s pace and strength are capable of causing a depleted Arsenal backline serious problems, be it on the break or even in the air. He´s a very healthy 9/1 to score first and 11/4 to score anytime. If Tim Cahill does play then his scoring record against Arsenal makes the 10/1 on him to score first a very decent bet indeed. Bilyaletdinov at 11/2 and Coleman at 6/1 to score anytime are also worth a look with both men showing a goalscoring touch of late.

Last season Everton came away from the Emirates with a 2-2 draw, a scoreline they´ve experienced in two of their last three games, and 2-2 in tonight´s game is a very profitable 14/1. However, the Gunners have lost three home league games this season, they struggled against Huddersfield there at the weekend, they have defensive issues and are without the injured Samir Nasri. 7/1 for the away win anyone?
