Lukaku was at his best last season when he was allowed to run on to through balls or dribble at goal, or when he was involved in build-up passing and followed the play up to get on the end of it. He was pretty poor all season when his back was to goal, which is why I don't think he should be the furthest man up the pitch. I think he's suited for the number 10 role.

We struggled last season when we would play two all-out-pace wingers like Mirallas and Deulofeu. I think Barkley needs to learn to start playing a role closer to what Pienaar/Osman do, pulling the ball back and changing direction to open up space and find holes in the defense. He'll have a tendency to drift inside which will make the formation lopsided, but will allow him to thread passes through for Naismith and Lukaku.

Bonkers to me, it really is. The lad had an injury hit season, fine. But doubting the lads quality is foolish to me.
