Everton among other clubs will be represented during the Republic of Ireland's game against Serbia tonight, with 6 foot 7 striker Zigic said to be in manager David Moyes' thoughts.

The former Racing Santander man, who won a big move to Valencia last season after impressing in La Liga, is said to be among a list of players being told that they can leave Mestalla in what is said to be a huge shakeup of playing staff.

Everton are already rumoured to have interest in two existing Valencia players, namely Joaquin and loanee midfielder Manuel Fernandes.

Out of the trio, Fernandes still remains the favourite to move to Goodison Park this summer as interest in the Portuguese midfielder was confirmed both by David Moyes and Keith Wyness.

Zigic would offer Everton something very different upfront with his 6 foot 7 frame.

However despite his height advantage, the players mobility remains the biggest problem, an attribute which appears to be an important one to David Moyes after the purchase of Andrew Johnson and the transformation in style of Yakubu Aiyegbeni.

Everton need that extra bit of class upfront to compliment main striker Yakubu, however is 6 foot 7 Zigic the answer?

would love us to get all 3 of them from valencia

A lot of people have talked up the idea of Crouch as a 'tall guy' option. I did mention on another thread that if that was what the boss was looking for, then Zigic would be a thousand times better than Crouch imo. Fact is, Crouch is [Poor language removed] in the air, Zigic is very good and at least as good with his feet as Crouch.

Agreed Zigic is far better then Crouch.

Thing to be worried about his physical attribute is his pace, I do not believe that tall man should have good speed. :( We still do not have the good passer or good crosser to feed him a ball, too.

Eh??? We have great crossers of the ball. (Amazingly) in Phil Neville we have the player with the most completed crosses in the Premiership. Along with Pienaar, Baines, Arteta, Osman and if we get Fernandes, then we have plenty of people who can put inviting balls into the box for a guy like Zigic to thrive on. The worry with having such a big target man up front is the Big Dunc syndrome, where we resort to just lumping the ball up to the target man and hoping for the best.

I would still prefer Jo to be honest. I asked Tim Vickery about it on Five Live on wednesday night and he agreed that he would be fantastic for us.

The 'mobility' thing is why I'd sooner have Peter Crouch. I think a lot of Evertonians don't give him the credit he deserves simply because he's a red.
