Not really up for debate. Zidane, along with Ronaldo and Maldini, was the player of his generation.

Beckham was merely a fine player with a pretty face and a PR machine behind him.

It all started with that goal against Wimbledon.

If that Wigan player who scored a simliar goal not so long back was English and marketable the media would still be hyping it now. But he isn't so they aren't.

If Beckham had never scored that goal we wouldn't even be having this poll.
