What ‘assurances’ was zaha given by palace at the end of the season mate? Was it he could be allowed to go to a CL club or if a certain price was met?

I'm not ITK but I'm led to believe that if a club came in with a bid of £80m Wilf was led to believe he could go. By whom, I don't know. I would imagine he wouldn't have been led to believe it would all need to be cash up front.

I see no possibility of a permanent transfer if he succeeds. If we can't get Zouma we won't get Tomori as long as Lampard is Chelsea manager.

I don't think he's good enough either.

I think it's the type of player more importantly in that deal. As in, it may well be a deal that's easy to do and we know he can offer pace, strength, height etc.

But yeh, I agree generally. But my trepidation with that deal wouldn't be the developing a player for another club as much as it would be I just don't think he's up to scratch. We'd definitely be downgrading in that area if he's our 3rd choice.

Yep agree completely. We need someone far better because we will need more than 2 centre backs all season

I am currently of the opinion that this deal is mostly done and all that remains is the structuring of the payments to suit the needs of both clubs.
Obviously it could still fail on these finer payment details, many do, but I think in the end Zaha will become an Everton player , for better or worse.
