Heard Zaha has been tempted by us and is on the verge of slapping in a transfer request to push this one through. Apparently he wants to be in our starting xi for the first game of the season to show them what they are missing.

I’d argue he’s worth a lot more to Palace. Without him they are relegation fodder. If they sold him (if Zaha kicked up a fuss) best option this late in the window for them is a cash plus player trade cause they’ll get rinsed trying to sign a replacement if teams know they have 80m burning a hole in their pocket.

I’d suggest best option for them is to have the other deals already lined up so they can push the button on them just before selling Zaha. That way they at least get to choose players they really want.

We need him or someone close to him.

He’s the man when these teams turn up to Goodison with zero ambition to add some creativity to break a team down.

Fulham game last season, didn’t even attempt to attack us just here you go lads, have the ball and break us down.

We couldn’t and they took their chances
