You're right, worth saying I think it's fine with the reasonable assumption that we've had a good bid for Beto.

Just saying I doubt he's a notable upgrade on Beto and Barry (although tbf Beto is having an awful run of form and likely needs a fresh environment, so he probably will be better than Beto in that regard)

Just the slight fear that a) Moyes starts him every game over Barry and we go back to wasting valuable development time for yet another player and b) we activate the 20m (!) clause

But assuming Beto is sold well and the above two scenarios don't happen, it's mostly just a shrug signing

Not sure why this part matters.

We also need to win games so if he's better than Barry, which won't be hard, he should start every game.

Underwhelmed by this
So was I initially but if it's a loan with an OPTION to buy , it's worth a punt. Hopefully that means we have a buyer for Beto as it wouldn't make much sense for 3 strikers as none of them could cover the wing positions .
It's still utter madness that a striker is more important than a right back to Moyes at this moment in time .

i think it is hard to compare this guy with Beto unless we see him in action. You can create a You Tube clip of Beto where he looks decent lol.
If it is a loan with no obligation with his career record i think it is a good move regardless. Get it done please

“If it is a loan with no obligation with his career record i think it is a good move regardless.”

why mate?

Again, yes:

They both put up double figures playing for non-dominant teams in a top-5 league (Beto twice!)

The Turkish league is the 17th ranked league in the world while Fenerbace are the 51st ranked club (above Monaco, Celta, Hoffenheim, Strasbourg, West Ham, Wolves, Burnley...)

It's roughly equivalent to playing for a low-midtable Prem team while in League One. It isn't even particularly a compliment to either of them to say they'd score buckets playing for Fenerbace

Because it's a risk-free striker option to try and push us up the league?

How is it risk free ? We still have to pay a percentage of the wages and a possible loan fee? Not many signings are risk free especially given our terrible record.

Defences may be crapper in Turkey, but so are the players supplying the striker. So it’s always tough to predict whether it will work. But history would suggest we will bring in the one striker it doesn’t work for.

Waiting for him to say he went to Forest after speaking to the manager and feels the project is more exciting and the style of play more suited to him. And something something something Garry Birtles.

The most important question that needs to be asked. Does he have his own hair, or use hair in a can, like our last illustrious striker from the Turkish league.
